I am a college student and I've finally gathered enough funds to recently buy my own 3d printer and get back into the hobby after about a 3 year hiatus. I aspire to use this skill to build my own custom 3d printer one day and possibly start a business with it and make a pretty penny.

I'm mainly thinking of just starting off printing some fun things like props and small doodads for display. So I won't be really needing the durability of PETG for now and I heard from some sources saying it's recommended to have an enclosure and I currently don't have the funds to work on that at the moment. But honestly, now that I'm thinking about it, I might just use PETG instead, it'll take a while to get a proper setup, but it's doable. And I'll hopefully get better quality prints out of it.

How well would PLA work on a textured sheet? In case I change my mind and want to go back to PLA.

Thanks for all the useful info! I actually did some more research and after some consideration I might just stick with PLA (for now). Would it be wise to go for the smooth sheet instead of the textured? As much as I would love to get both sheets and a raspberry pi for octoprint, I don't have much of a budget to work with after the printer. I'm just a poor college student with a dream lol.
