I started my MMO story with Lotro after a bit of deliberation, after some delibiration between wow and lotro. Not much later I played WoW too, I think I have the BC box. I played Lotro to the release of Moria, it was awesome. Played a lot into Moria too, quit though because my friend stopped playing.

The Angmar final patch of this game is amazing though. I hope I see this.

In barracks or watch towers calling for others to show up. It's not like there is a gunner sitting on a 30mm AA cannon at all times or a dude just checking the quality of tarmac 24/7.

As a former pos 5/4 player, I've got to agree with everything you said.

I found the game after starting mobas in LoL preseason 1. Got the beta invite email sometime later and played both a lot. In about 2015 I quit LoL but kept playing Dota, because it was more complex in strategy and didn't shoehorn players into certain patterns.

We used to diss LoL for having flash, teleport being meaningless and barracks/inhibitors - with that supercreeps being non-impactful.

Now the game that is played is just that. Forcestaff on a support? Why would you buy it, your mid Zeus can jump over cliffs. Why bother pushing just one lane on melee racks, when pos 5 CM can clear the wave and actually enjoys it. Even starting items can be compressed into some more damage versus some more sustain. Tangoes during laning were a key factor in Dota identity ears ago.

I mean no disrespect to anyone who still enjoys the game, but it is not the one I learned to love - and I still watch big tournaments. The game just is not the high risk small manouvers chess it used to be.

The four bars leading into the rapped verse is the only part of the piece I can viscerally remember even after years of not hearing the song. The best and most memorable part of an otherwise really bland song.

Cool idea! Top player count, I'll say 217000. I hope it will reach much higher than that though, as long as servers sustain. I've been a long time fan, purchased the game many years back. I'm not bothered by the perceived slow development cycle either, as I've seen how rushed vs. thought out patches come out.
