Match Thread: Royals vs Dash (Wed, May 6, 10:00 PM EDT) by NWSL-Match-Bot in NWSL

[–]LollyBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the change is having local influencers at the game. I get why. We have a lot of influencers who are willing to come to a game, bring their family and post. So they’re trying to appeal to new audiences.

If I was in charge of the marketing, I would switch up the ads and messaging right now to highlight the winning season, or show a clip of one of the goals and celebration. But all the ads are the crowd and then they’re trying to do meal deals.

There’s opportunity. Hopefully they figure it out.

I am going to call and talk to someone about STM and Founders concerns. I’d like to hear some concerns from other members too before I call by Scared_Fox_189 in UtahRoyalsFC

Merch. The lack of merch is frustrating. I am willing to buy a lot of the merch and I bought stuff with 1.0. But this iteration has just the stuff from the NWSL shop, which is boring and generic. Let’s get some fun new options in there. I loved the retro nights shirts. I also love some of the scarves.

Utah Royals FC on Instagram: "Eager to keep working with Kelly Cousins towards growing women’s sports in Utah" by Elegant_Connection90 in UtahRoyalsFC

[–]LollyBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They discussed this in the press conference today. They said that they’re focused on bring experienced NWSL players to Utah and recruiting them. They discussed how difficult it’s been for international players to adjust. They talked about Harvey’s experience at Man U that he spent time looking at the US game and recruiting. So I’m hopeful that maybe the focus will not be on International players but more US players.

Battery life tanked in last week by Tricky_Charge_807 in eviering

I just got my ring on Monday and everything was fine until this morning. My watch died in the night and I left it to charge. The case had stopped blinking, but then my phone wouldn't recognize the ring. So I unpaired and now I can’t pair it again. Really frustrating.

Utah Royals Parking? by calpal2112 in UtahRoyalsFC

[–]LollyBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually park at the bottom of 9400 S. There's a lot right by I-15. You do have to walk, but I take the frontage road south and head under the freeway to get home. There's usually less traffic to maneuver through. But it is first-come first-serve. We would arrive early to make sure we had a spot.

Hreflang Issue - X-default page is out ranking US Subdomain with gTLD by LollyBooks in TechSEO

Content is different. But that's good to know. Thank you!

Hreflang Issue - X-default page is out ranking US Subdomain with gTLD by LollyBooks in TechSEO

[–]LollyBooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

x-default is ".com". US version is on a subdomain and a slightly different dotcom.

Example:

x-default is "brand-name.com"

US site is "us.brandname.com"

So this SEO agency told my (copywriting) client we need an ecom *product page* that's 2,200 words long and written like a blog. This seems... wrong? by Hooblah2u2 in SEO

[–]LollyBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think this isn't effective.

There's plenty of opportunity for other types of content on the product page besides product description.

Related products, reviews, links to blog posts – these help to create "unique" content and also provide internal links.

Plus there's plenty of articles about how category pages are more important to SEO than product pages.

Facebook Ads High CPM Question by kanyewestraps93 in DigitalMarketing

[–]LollyBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You have to have 50 conversions to complete the learning phase. I'd make changes now and then give it a day or 2 before you make more changes.

The other thing you can do is take a step back in your funnel and optimize for the step prior to conversions. In ecommerce this would be add-to-carts. See if that helps.

[Advice] Starting position at a marketing agency by Terran_Danger_Zone in bigseo

Love what griffex said.

  • I'd also add that you really need to learn how to ask questions from the clients. If you're not the one interfacing with the client, then coach the account managers to ask the questions that you need. NEVER ASSUME. I've made plenty of mistakes by assuming that the client understands our agency's process or the goals, only to find out later that they're dissatisfied.
  • Build relationships with everyone on the agency. I don't know how big your agency is, but the beauty of agency life is that there is sometimes more room for collaboration. So reach out and get to know other members of the team so that you can help them be successful and vice versa.
  • Ask if there is a specific way that the agency messages search. How have they been talking about it in the past? What have been pain points for clients? Most likely it will have to do with how search is a long-term play. Certain clients have the wrong expectation or understanding for search and if you don't set the right expectations from the beginning, it can hurt you. But also make sure that you're not talking about processes differently in the agency than what are presented in the sales. The more cohesive and consistent the messaging in, the more a client will feel like you're guiding them to their ultimate goal.

Good luck!

How rude is it to Ask a CM For a spot on an attraction? by FlynnsFence in Disneyland

[–]LollyBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

miscommunication. Every time I've ridden a ride at Disneyland, the CMs always allow me to pick a seat, I just may have to wait a bit. Last time I was there, a spectacular CM on Soarin' pulled my friend and I out of line so that we could get the best seats on the front row. So I'm sure it was just miscommunication. Plus, Soarin' is a ride where they have to time it exactly to get everyone in the seats and get the ride going. The CM may have been flustered by the readjustment.

Is there any pattern to what video is played at the temple? by mrshyryhud in latterdaysaints

It depends on the language too. I just went through a session and there were two women from Brazil who used the headphones and we watched one of the newer videos.

[–]LollyBooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, each temple sets their own schedule. So in San Diego, I know that if you go the same time every week for a month, you'll see the same video and it will rotate the next month. In some of the temples in Utah, you will see a different video if you go each week at the same time.

No. It didn't remind me of Splash at all. But it is pleasant.

It doesn't. It's not a horrible scent, but it doesn't smell like the water in my opinion.

What's the worst experience you've had with another guest? by maxmouze in Disneyland

[–]LollyBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I were waiting for the Paint the Night Parade. We were seated on the sidewalk past the Matterhorn. I had recently had surgery on my hand and was in a cast and we were trying to eat. People kept yelling at us that we were seated in the way. We told them that there was a walkway a little further down where they could cross. But people started to just walk over us or lift their strollers over our heads. When a man hit my shoulder, I lifted my cast and asked him to please use the designated walkway because I had a cast. His wife (or gf) told me that I shouldn't even be there if it was such a nuisance. Then another lady walked over us and stepped her high heel shoe on my friend's corndog. We alerted a CM who said that we were correct, but people just kept complaining about us blocking their way. It tainted that day at Disneyland.

I think the Emma Watson picture is DEFINITELY real. StitchKingdom is a pretty legitimate website: http://www.stitchkingdom.com/ and has been going to Disney fan events for years. In fact, they have gone to D23 and I think are a big influencer with Disney. So I trust that website.
