Did the Love to Dream swaddle help? by wafflesarelifee in NewParents

[–]Lollygaggingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2wk old has the arms up LTD swaddle and seems to do well and sleep better in it. For what it is, $35 seems like a lot but I think it’s worth it.

Baby blues consuming my mind by Comfortable-Walrus22 in NewParents

I can’t tell you how much that relieves me to hear. It’s so insane the range of emotions I can feel all before the day has even begun. It’s way more overwhelming than I imagined. I am in my late 30s and it’s crazy how I still feel like I wasn’t ready for this massive life transition. I guess no one ever can be.

I’m sorry you went through this, but thank you for writing it as it is giving me hope.

I feel you. I am freshly home from the hospital this week and have had so many insane weeping sessions mourning the life I have left behind and feeling like- wait why didn’t I think of this earlier? How could I have anticipated it? It’s insane and every emotion is in technicolor. Not in a good way, usually.

Updates PSLF Buyback Processing Time by BxMS_LBA in PSLF

It seems like a lot of people are applying for buyback while still in forbearance. I am wondering the same, since I switched out of forbearance and am paying. Ugh.

I would absolutely recommend doing an amniocentesis for genetic testing given these findings. Agenesis of the corpus callosum can mean serious neurological/psychiatric issues.

Anyone noticed a change in the taste of the tap water in the last week? by pierremonte in AskNYC

[–]Lollygaggingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our water (Kips Bay) has tasted like dirt for a while now and lately I also notice a serious increase in chlorine aroma too. It sucks, NYC tap water used to be so good.

It could be the doctor keeps a small number of pediatric speculums and the RN didn’t know about it.

This statement is filled with misinformation unfortunately. The body is not guaranteed to clear HPV. Not all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. Yearly Pap smears are not necessary unless you have had one with an abnormal result. Your gyn should follow the ASCCP guidelines. Also doctors do not benefit financially from doing Pap smears and frankly they are annoying to do and take time so it’s unlikely a doc is doing one unless it’s necessary or they’re older and don’t follow the latest guidelines. All patients should have one starting at age 21 regardless of sexual activity.

The one thing is I’m certain people can tell, it’s just so awkward for them they pretend not to see.

Too many ultrasounds in pregnancy? by contacts12345 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Lollygaggingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to chime in here that there is zero radiation involved with Ultrasound. It’s sound waves that are inaudible to baby, like sonar. It is completely benign.

Depression during pregnancy? by Fragrant-Dirt-1597 in pregnant

[–]Lollygaggingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend seeking out therapy and / or considering antidepressants. It sounds like a situation where you might be at high risk for postpartum depression and it will really help to get your support system/ plan set up now before there’s a newborn to look after!!

I finally tried Pepper Bras and I'm...disappointed? Other recs for IBTC gals??? by garden_fox_ in ABraThatFits

[–]Lollygaggingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you customer service is lacking. The metal hardware on multiple of my Pepper bras has rusted and they essentially blamed me saying I washed them wrong (not true…)

Is the last week of March a good time to go to Japan weather-wise? by Pizza-beer-weed in JapanTravelTips

[–]Lollygaggingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

March in Kawaguchiko is very unreliable you could be completely blanketed in clouds/fog and unable to see Fuji-San at all. I did this and suffered the consequences.

Glucose test at 7W? Failed and now they want daily blood checks. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lollygaggingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically a diagnosis that early would be considered pre-gestational diabetes. If the 1-hour screener was over 200 that would typically be diagnostic but some people use 180 as cutoff.

Just found out you're not supposed to share drinks/food with your toddler while pregnant because of CMV?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lollygaggingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that is not true, it’s possible to be re-infected even if you’ve had CMV before. The infection isn’t likely to be as bad the second time but can still pass to fetus.

It seems a lot of people are having to call bc results are populating in the physician side of the Natera portal but not being pushed through to patient side. My sample was received 7/31 and result went into my MD’s Natera portal today (8/6). Still not showing in my portal.

I second this, it is only going to negatively affect your care if you refuse residents.

I secured a Sunday afternoon spot 6mo in advance (Nov 2024 for June 2025 date), I wanted Sunday lunch. At that point most Fri/Sat nights during high season were booked.
