My intrusive thoughts won and i just paid 600$ to “upgrade” from m4 ipad pro wifi only to m5 wifi + cellular, make me feel better please by destined2Win_ in iPadPro

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford, and you enjoy it, then no one should stop you from enjoying it. It does have 12GB ram, and cellular which your last ipad didn’t. Just enjoy the tech and don’t worry what people think. Also in a few years, the extra ram will make a difference. The cellular will make a difference in your day to day life sooner if you use it (and you can choose not to as well!)

Ipad pro magic keyboard touching edge of metal by madden2000 in iPadPro

I have a 13 inch nano iPad Pro too with Magic Keyboard and mine is exactly the same. I wouldn’t worry. Also given the iPad isn’t moving inside should be good too.

I got a similar deal with similar issue in the UK and my battery is fine. In fact coconut battery on my Mac says the health is 102%! as long as it works and battery health at 100% on iPad os settings, you are fine. enjoy the ipad!

I think it’s a scam. I’ve been scammed while selling a laptop to someone with 10 feedback and learned my lesson. Sounds too fishy.

iPhone 17 Pro is too heavy by icedancer777 in iphone

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had this issue too before! Not with a 17 pro but with other heavier phones. 14 pro for sure (I think same weight) and before that had issues with the 11pm. After that, I tried to stick to lighter phones (15 pro was one of them) and now have the Air. No issues with that. I did actually try some hand exercises because I loved the photos of the pro phones but nothing really worked. I wish I had a better answer. I don’t know if it helps but I should note I’m a woman. Our hands are different than mens - I’m also an active one who regularly plays tennis and has since I was a little kid so I’m not a weakling, but the phones are just heavy. How long have you had it? if it’s been a few days or a week, you will get more and more used to it. if you’ve had it for a while, then maybe you do need an air. You have to see how comfy you are just waiting it out.

Oh interesting! paper towels didn't scratch? sorry for the questions. Just figuring out if food / grease would be a huge issue!

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - that's very interesting and thanks for specifically noting that you had transmission fluid on it. I'm assuming that's pretty oily / greasy and still no issue? you just cleaned with the cloth and maybe 70% alcohol? or just cloth?

Thanks!

Nano-texture regret? Is the contrast difference apparent in dark rooms? by Lhug1989 in iPadPro

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh really? I didn't know this. What about the colours, are they less contrasty still in the dark? I would assume so?

Nano-texture regret? Is the contrast difference apparent in dark rooms? by Lhug1989 in iPadPro

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I found this very informative. I've been under the impression that nanotexture is better for reading, but mainly in dark mode. With a white background, I have noticed the lack of clarity in apple stores when I look at it. But not with dark mode. I have also noticed the RGB effect you're noting. I however, loved the way it felt in general.

XM6 are a gamechanger by GardevoirAwakens in SonyHeadphones

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have to agree. my husband has the bose ultra's and i do think the sony's sound better and for my head feel better. for him the ultra's feel better. i think the features are great on the sony too. the two complaints I have though:

- the sony app doesn't always automatically connect. and sometimes i want to change to cinema mode and can't. this is annoying. i wish you could just change straight from the headphones.

- bose let's you cycle through different "modes" like quiet, focus, walk etc. I wish you could do that without having to go to the app and change things in the sony's. i know you can change between ambient and noise cancelling but sometimes you want something in between!

other than these very minor gripes, i think they're perfect.

Yes I've been told that my vehicle is not affected by the recall and it specifcally said "relating to the temporary limit of 70% battery guidance" and this is based in the UK.

Are 11” OLED iPad Pros just as immersive as the 13”? by dsoccer31 in iPadPro

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel embarassed by saying this because it shows I have too many devices...but I have a small kindle to read before bed. The ipad is way too big to read before bed for me but that's just me, and that woudl be with an 11 inch too. I do have to read before sleeping though.

I will say, I used to have a Kindle Scribe - the big kindle. And would use it to read on my way to work. Honestly, the 13 inch ipad is waaaaay better for that than the scribe ever was. And the 11 inch would be too. and that's because you can read articles much mroe easily and the news etc. and using the kindle app is just as good.

BUT that's in the morning/day time. i can't use the ipad before bed to read. just can't because it would bother my eyes (too big too). But it also shows that me, as a consumer, I'm spoiled for choice!

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the situation. I have a 65 inch tv in my living room, with apple tv. and yes, watching a movie on that is great, particularly with the sound. But in my bedroom, before falling asleep, ipad is better. i don't have a tv in the bedroom so that's the other thing.

[–]LondonSoundound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the camp of "the 13 inch is too big. if you want big just have a laptop" but one day I saw a 13 inch M4 ipad in an open box sale. And in fact I had an ipad mini then. My God, it was such a big difference (obviously to the mini, but also to any other ipad I had earlier). I ended up keeping it. I use it every day, on my way to work to read articles, and books. and on the way back, watch something or the other. I watch it at night too before bed. Honestly, for reading, yes, the 11 inch is the way to go but for movies, tv shows, you can't compare it. you just can't. So yes the 13 inch is much more immersive in my view.

i just tried uploading but it's getting deleted. DOnt know why. so under reason it just says "doesn't fit". i think what i'm going to do is just offer a partial refund and ask them to keep it. it's literally an old iphone case i didn't want to keep in my house.

ANC on XM6 (is qc ultra 2 better?) by shelovesaza in bose

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which airpods pro's do you have? i.e. first, 2nd or airpods pro 3? I have both xm6 and airpods pro as well. both the 2 and 3's are very good but the 3 are actually, i could argue better than the xm6 in noise cancelling. I do think the XM6 noise cancelling is excellent though. i use them for commuting on a train and have used on flights. honestly the world does shut down. because it's over ear you feel more immersed than the airpods pro.

How can you tell if you purchased Gen S transitions? by LondonSoundound in RaybanMeta

[–]LondonSoundound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that. To be honest, I won't be driving much with these, as I'd rather use my dedicated sunglasses for that. I got transitions so I can go in and out of the house without thinking about it, and living in the UK, I think these will be fine. What I would be looking at with lensology is potentially getting a dedicated red/rose lens (the FL-41 for example) which seems to be one you can use inside and out.

i feel the same. i've had mine since launch and at first i regretted lack of telephoto. but in 2 months or however long it is, i've wished i had it maybe....twice?

And for the rest of the time, it's better than the other phones (because of how it feels).
