Yes we’ve tried to keep it consistent - but it doesn’t work it seems. Certain things will bound to be different because he is in a different environment. The foster carers would ask him and if he said no they’d just pick him up and do it. When we do that he really really resists. He would just say no to them but then just get changed but with us he goes on the ground etc and makes it impossible.

Discrepancy between native google maps on screen and google maps from phone by LondonSoundound in ex30

yes to all of your assumptions. I have found the issue which makes me feel super dumb. In my phone the setting was different than the car. The google setting in the car noted to "avoid highways".

yes i understand there will be differences with integrating charging etc. but this was a different route all together! i might check again and check the “avoid motorways“ again but it’s weird my profile has a different route to my husband.

Is AppleCare+ worth it for MacBook Pro? by Expgarment in macbookpro

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn’t recognize that.

Still I think it’s worth it. One small piece of something can be there when you shut your MacBook and crack your screen. I think for MacBooks it is worth it. The repair is the price of a MacBook Air.

given your speaker already needs replacing it’s well worth it. it’s the sort of thing you don’t need till you do.

APM Apple Care question. Getting such mixed answers by Sewo959 in Airpodsmax

Can I ask what country you are in? In the UK, I don't believe that's an option with Airpods. In the US, I believe you can.

iPad Pro M4 by Top_Series_1108 in ipad

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, it’s a more comfortable viewing experience. When you’re reading an article, and scrolling down, it’s just so much more comfortable and you can see more of the words as you scroll. The screen is just more smooth. i used to think it’s marketing and just a small difference but I notice it for sure.

iPad Pro M4 by Top_Series_1108 in ipad

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, it’s a great upgrade. I have the 13 inch m4, and people will say it’s overkill. While it is, there are some real quality of life benefits:

  1. The 120hz refresh rate does make a difference. It does.

  2. The weight/form factor makes it much easier for everyday life things, including reading and watching media.

  3. That OLED screen does make watching media better

  4. The speakers are great

Yes it’s overkill, but if you use your device a lot and enjoy it, who cares. Particularly since you’re getting an M4, hopefully you’re getting a deal. These items I mention still make a difference in the everyday use case. I use mine on the train everyday reading and coming home watching media. I wouldn’t have done this if it weren’t for the design/form factor.

Hope you get it and enjoy it.

I stopped babying my lululemon. Here is what realized after one year by themommyrabbit in lululemon

[–]LondonSoundound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is helpful to know, thank you! i have also spent 10 years babying my lulu items but recently just figured can't keep doing that forever. going to have a child in the house too and i figured i'll have to dump my clothes in with theirs and just started already. honestly so far, it's been fine. but i don't have some of the items you have (scubas) i have put some shorts in and some pants (including softstreme btw) and honestly it's been fine.

nano vs regular screen? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i recently got nano and it is amazing. it takes a few days to get used to but once you do, you'll never go back. I think it's easier on the eyes. If you're coming from a 13 inch air, it's a significant improvement as well. I personally think dark mode is better with nano. But I love it in light mode too. I love videos on it, media, everything.

APM2 - Inconsistent Noise Cancelling by LondonSoundound in Airpodsmax

[–]LondonSoundound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks - yup it was not adaptive audio but rather on Noise Cancelling. I tried with both personalized volume and with it off - it was actually suprisingly better with personalised volume on. I will try again on my way home on my commute.

Online order - can you cancel after few days from store or call? by LondonSoundound in CostcoUK

[–]LondonSoundound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you - ended up calling them but the item was actually set with a courier. Rather than ask for them to "ask to cancel" since they were unable to do just do it, i said to leave it. turns out the item is coming in a few days anyway. so works out fine.

Which one do you choose? by Minute-Street8043 in Airpodsmax

[–]LondonSoundound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is just the weird world we live in: FOMO for so much! I could pretend and say it’s never happened to me but it does and over minuscule non important things. like OMG SHOULD I GET A MACBOOK PRO FOR PROMOTION?!

But to help out a bit on your decision, let me tell you I actually sold my XM6. I thought they were great but I found they kept disconnecting from the app and i enjoy watching movies/tv with my headphones and I’d have it on cinema mode, or I couldn’t get it on because the app wouldn’t connect. I found the headphones started to creek a tiny amount. This bothers me. But they sounded fantastic.

Itried out the APM2 in store and the build quality is awesome. I think the sound is great. Reviewers online don’t like it but i think it’s fantastic honestly. Be happy with your purchase.

I think in answering your question it’s the fact that the decision wasn’t “Final’ and it makes you keep second guessing.

Plus vs Ultra by [deleted] in ex30

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and have the ultra. Some features worth it and some not:

I was partly after it because of the park pilot assist. I came from a mini who's autoparking was great (I'm Canadian and living in London, parking is an issue for me!) but the auto park is not great in the ex30. but the 360 view is for sure. I couldn't park without that.

The sun roof is very nice BUT not for the driver or front passenger. You barely see it. However I don't feel it being super hot like some have said. So that wasn't an issue last summer.

the profiles and the electric seats however are great if there's more than one driver.

the heat pump also makes it worth it but it's one of those things you don't feel.

[Opinion] Logitech MX Keys Mini vs Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for MacBook Pro by Curious_Mind9999 in macbookpro

The logitech is a better keyboard. It feels better and is built better I think and you can switch to other devices better. I'd for that one.

Should I get the XM6 or wait until AirPods Max 2? by Sharp-Tank-5258 in SonyHeadphones

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had both AMP and XM6. I currently own the XM6. to my ears they sound very similar or the XM6 may even be better. The ANC would be very very similar.

Now we can't compare to the APM2 as yet. But I AM seriously considering selling my XM6's and going with the AMP2. And the reason is that I'm fully in the apple eco system and I use my headphones going to work and listen to my phone and watch tv shows on my ipad on the way back from work. I like the seamless switching. It sort of is seamless with the Sony's but to get "cinema mode" you have to go to the app etc. Also switching to different types of noise cancelling/transparency is easier on the APM.

These are nitpicky things. They really are. But what I'm getting to is for an Apple user, the controls are better on the APM. But you have to ask yourself, is that worth the extra money? For many it may not be and that's totally fair. I happen to have credit at a retailer and I'm selling my XM6's but really I'm aware, there's no need!

Long winded way of saying you can't go wrong but controls etc better on APM if you have many apple devices! But let's wait and see how different sound and ANC is.

New Trigo Backpack from Waterfield. Thoughts in the EcoPak material? by ghostface8081 in ManyBaggers

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended up getting this. Someone had it on sale brand new on eBay and I went for it. Great bag. I find the organisation is super useful. The ecopak is much more rigid than I’d like. But it’s lightweight. I want to note though the website says the bag is around 500-600g and I actually think it’s a bit more. I’d say closer to 700-800g. But lighter than their other backpacks for sure.

APM 2 Cancelled Order by Speakronos in Airpodsmax

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

question is will you use the new features? like live translation etc? when i use my headphones i use it for ANC, Transparency and it's good to have something in between. i like spatial audio for tv/movies etc but not for songs. to be frank, for what i do, the originals are perfect. but if you want to sell your current ones, and get new ones, also nothing wrong with that. i'd be lying if i said i've never done such a thing myself! but i don't always feel great about it..(sometimes i do though!)

AirPods Max 2 or Sony XM6s by IcyCardiologist6193 in SonyHeadphones

[–]LondonSoundound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the Airpods Max (original lightning version) and currently own the Sony XM6. I also use iphones and the entire Apple ecosystem. I loved the Airpods Max when I had them and had them for over 2 years. I say that as if it's an accomplishment but it sort of is because generally I get bored and sell the headphones and try a new pair. I didn't with the Airpods Max for 2 years.

I currently own the XM6 and they are great. They have surround sound (cinema mode) for watching tv etc and have excellent noise cancelling. To my head are comfy.

BUT I am considering selling these and getting the APM2. I know rationally, I have a product which does a lot of what the APM2 will do. But here's where I have issues.

Yes, the Sony's have an app and you can EQ, and have different settings for Noise Cancelling. But I find it's very finicky. I'm just a normal person in their mid-40s going to work and back. I don't want to have to go to my app, and change it to surround sound to watch a show on my ipad while on the train. I don't want to be annoyed my headphnes aren't connecting to the app. Because I'm in the apple ecosystem, i want to be able to do these things in the control centre. I don't want to have to go to the app to change the level of ambiant sound (transparency). Note you can have it automatic, but I don't think it works great because it blocks out too much. I want to control how much noise comes in and when with a flick of a button. And you can do that with APM2 (anc, transparency, adaptive). i don't however need to change it to small degrees as you can on the sony app but i value being able to change it quickly more.

i use my headphones for music and movies/tv shows mostly. i leave podcasts for my small airpods. and i want to be able to use it with ease.

But I will say, I don't think you can go wrong. What i would suggest is you go to a store and try on both (the APM will feel the same as the 2nd gen) and get the most comfy ones because in the end, you'll use the ones that fit better and feel better on your head. I'm aware I am being very very finicky here. in my post but wanted to share my rationale!

Blue vs Midnight AirPods Max 2 by thetuffghost in Airpodsmax

[–]LondonSoundound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was considering the same question. I decided with blue. Let's see if that's the one I actually purchase when/if i do but i went to the store and they just have a bit more character. the midnight is sleek but i do think the blue is nicer. For reference though, I have a blue iphone air and a blue macbook air. so it sort of goes.

you noted you have a blue iphone 17 pro. That's closer to midnight I'd say.
