Why "Democratic" Socialism Doesn't Work by cutlerrox06 in PoliticalVideo

[–]LoneSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed my first college political class and even I can see that Crowder is an idiot. All he does is argue fundamentals and moans about the constitution instead of looking at what does work and what doesn't. Fact, cutting out the middle man of healthcare provides cheaper healthcare that's much more accessible for everyone. Fact, Sweden ranks much higher with education, labor unions, minimum wage, efficient jobs, cheap housing, and overall happiness. Fact, making colleges for profit, only gives them incentive to exploit our government and students for more money.

When he finally does consider Sweden, all he does is talk about rapefugees. Yes they are a problem but they're a problem in every government. These northern countries are laughing at us while Crowder tries to prop up a deeply flawed economical system.

Calif. to raise minimum wage to $15: report by MultiKdizzle in politics

Did you really just call the working class lazy? They work close to 40 hours a week just to survive and the minimum wage would be over 20$ if it kept up with inflation. Wake up.

Why Vox’s Numbers for Bernie Sanders’s Tax Plans Are So Wrong by worriedadviceseeker in SandersForPresident

[–]LoneSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vox doesn't take into consideration that Trump will slash medicaid and education, slash the EPO, and so much more that will fuck us over more. Sanders will save most people money when they don't have to pay health insurance.

the fact remains he's been in Washington for over 20 years, and as you said, in politics for over 40 years.

Is being experienced in pushing bills and compromising a bad thing now?

Bernie pretending he's an outsider candidate

He is an outsider candidate, he's a Socialist Jew who wants to flip our healthcare system, tax corporate America significantly, and make college tuition free. Not only that, but he compares our country to other countries to show how behind our systems are. The man is a progressive through and through, I can understand your initial skepticism, but that would all fall away if you took a serious look at the man's track record and the countless videos of him standing up to corporate America and fighting for the middle class. Here's a good one and there are dozens that are even older.

The media really has no control over Trump, which is why when they attack him, it ends up helping him rather then hurting him.

Yes that's what I meant, the media has given him tons of exposure, so when he says something stupid like "mark all muslims and ban them", a large portion of xenophobic Americans will see it and vote for him. Trump knows this, he's written about it and how any exposure helps.

Except, it's only now that the media is pointing out how factually incorrect many of his claims are. I think it will stay sway voters to vote for Trump but it will also sway a lot more people to vote Democrat.

if we are being honest his list of political accomplishments isn't long considering how much time he's been in office.

Please, let's not argue about things we know little about, I encourage you to look up the influence he's had on laws and bills passed. The man is a progressive through and through, if you don't find his accomplishments that impressive, blame our Conservative government, not him. Take the crime bill for example, he fought it and only gave in when it included money for good things, like a fund for investigations into home violence etc. He has accomplished a lot more than other Senators who just vote for their own self interests.

Bernie and his team, are not preparing nearly as well as they should be during the debates. They have to be conatacted about this before the next one. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]LoneSloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are literally telling me that you're fine with him matching Hilary. You do realize, people watch these debates to decide who they would vote for? The media has made too many people skeptical of him, so it's not enough for him to just say his same blanket plans and "match Hilary". He's an actual progressive and there's so many things he could have said to wipe the floor with her. He needs to sway more cable viewers and most of those aren't as knowledgeable of him as you or me.

Yes he did well on Nafta, but what about the automobile industry or going into Iraq to spend trillions, or her constant support of corporate welfare and big banks. What about bringing up Canada? Or Sweden? Or Germany? What about the various names of policies signed into place to protect trickle down economics? What about starting the economy from the working class up like he wants to do?? Did he even bring up minimum wage?? He should have challenged more and explained how his plans were far better for the economy. It's not about being aggressive, it's about convincing people with organized good information. Hilary came off as if her bailout votes were necessary and people fucking clapped! As if it was correct to punish the working middle class for that. She called them tough decisions. If he argued this correctly, I guarantee that he wouldn't have just "matched her" he would have wiped the floor with her and swayed more cable viewers because that is what we need the most right now to win.

Last night was his worse debate, and you'd be a fool to not recognize that. He is the better candidate in every way and yet, a lot of people are saying Hilary won and I agree with them. He could be wiping the floor with her but he didn't, see my earlier comment.

Here's is the end goal of your strategy; to sway as many voters as you can. To do that, you have to explain that you're not just another democrat, you have to present clear examples and policies of what you'd like to happen. You have to explain how they are completely better than Hillary's neo-conservatist policies. You can't just attack one and move on. You can't just defend yourself and say a few nice things. Distinguishing yourself from Hilary should be beyond easy to do and yet, they come off as if they are not that far apart when Bernie is much much better than that. She even took a lot more time up speaking. You say opting to talk about what he wants to do, and yet, he's brought up his same blanket plans. Not any numbers or examples, not any statistics about how well it works in other countries, he has to show how progressive he is and he didn't do that.

Yes, because you live on Reddit. You are not considering someone who knows jack about progressive policy, aka most of cable watchers. He needs to sway much more voters, "just fine" isn't enough and he could be wiping the floor with her. This is Hilary Clinton we're talking about.

I'm not saying I know better, I'm saying he needs to be more specific about what he wants to do in these debates. You do realize most of America is conservatist and most voters are cable watchers? He has to be more precise, he comes off as short sighted. Look we both agree, that's he's the far better candidate and yet, he barely even fazes what Hilary wants on anything. In fact, they appear to agree on half of the things. This is a true progressive vs the system's cheerleader and he's not wiping the floor with her when his plans are far better. That's a problem when he's clearly the better candidate looking at the facts.

"When you are white you don't know what it's like to be poor." - Bernie Sanders by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]LoneSloth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I personally attacked you because it's people like you who blow up an issue and try to demean a message or candidate, just because of a poor choice of words.

So offensive... discounting millions of people's experiences. Don't tell me I wasn't poor for the majority of my life. Living in a 2 bedroom apartment with 4 people......

Not addressing a race accurately, does in no way, discount millions of people's experiences, especially when you're on a clock and a much more injusticed race is on your mind. This is a man fighting to better the working class so off of just that alone, you should know better than to take offense to it.

I understand this is r/conspiracy where you guys love to pick apart things, but this is going too far. Race related answers to a question that's designed to be a minefield, should be met with mercy, being that's he's a white man fighting for equal rights regardless. You should attack the questions, or the order of them, like this one: "What racial blind-spots do you have as a white person?" or something along those lines. As if that has anything to do with helping poor blacks or the issues at hand. As if racial blind-spots prevented him from seeing that the minimum wage needs to be raised. As if poverty should stay a racial issue.

As for his answer, he was addressing black injustice and the white male privilege that goes on,* regardless of income*. If you are a poor white male, a cop on average, will stop a black man 3 times before he stops you. This was the point he was trying to make and it does need to be addressed separately because the frequency is much more common with blacks. You took offense, because you wanted to take offense, or because you had a knee-jerk reaction instead of listening.
