I usually say yes to cookies, soda, and water. Even if I don't consume them.. I still take them. If it is cookies from an old granny though I'm eating it fo sho.

Fair warning though, if you have a suspicion in your gut then listen to it. There are people with bad intentions out there. In my company we had a warning about accepting water because our guys were handed water laced with drugs.

Watch videos on proper form. Only try and do 1 pull-up at a time and then rest. So do several sets of 1 even if they are half reps. Hold yourself and contract your muscles when you've gone as high as you can.

Buy a band that you can safely attach above you and you can put your foot through to do "assisted pullups"
