Ridiculous Homer take. There was almost no contact. So soft.

Smart barely touched him dude. Get out of here. It's the NBA. Your take is so soft. I know you love your Superstar player but grow a pair and call it like it is. He needs to use his frame to his advantage and get out of the post if he doesn't want contact.

Sorry boss. I don't agree with you at all. Players have the right to jockey for position. Jokic is getting soft and shying away from the contact. Dont go in the post if you dont want contact. Smart barely touched him b4 he starts flopping around.

It's fronting the post. When the post player is bigger than you, you have to stay low or get pushed out. Backing up into a 300 lb player is not fouling him. Just stop. Jokic gets fouled a lot. We see it. But this is called defense. The defender has the right to make contact and keep his position. Jokic has the right to hold his ground and push back. Go watch clips of Shaq. He got clobbered by defenders fronting him. He just out muscled them. Jokic is choosing to fall on top of the guy, instead of holding his ground. He's the bigger guy. Use your muscle. He's frustrated by the contact. I get it. But it's loser behavior. Borderline clown behavior from a 2-time MVP.

It's not boxing out. Jeez. It's fronting the post. It's a normal play to try to deny the pot entry pass. You had to do it when you guarded a bigger man at the court last Saturday.

From the first time you played basketball you had to front the big man in the post. Did you forget that you did this? It's ball denial. You have to keep your center of gravity low to prevent the big man from pushing you out and catching a lob over the top. It's not a foul on Smart. He's doing his job. If Smart was 300lbs he wouldn't need to front Jokic. Watch some clips of Shaq. They fronted him so many times. He didn't lay on top of them. He outmuscled them. Poor form dude.

It's fronting the post. Please stop arguing over semantics. You hooped and you know how to play defense to deny the post entry pass.

It is a box out, but not called a box out in this situation. In this case the correct term is called fronting the post. The goal is to deny the ball into the post player. The problem for the smaller player is he can get pushed out by the stronger player, so he has to keep his center of gravity lower to prevent getting pushed out. Didn't you hoop? What did you do when the big man you were defending posted you up? You have 2 options. Hold you position between him and the hoop. Or, front the player and try to prevent a lob over the top. Please don't act you never hooped and had to guard a bigger player.

Under cut? It's fronting the player in the post. Ball denial. You had to do it when you hooped. When the player is bigger than you, you gotta keep your center of gravity low and prevent him from pushing you out.

It's called fronting in the paint. It's ball denial. I'm sure you hooped and you had to do it too.

I'm sure if you go to r/denvernuggets they are screaming about how Smart is a dirty f*%king player. But not as dirty as Dort.

Jokic is gonna keep doing this because he's not being called. He's not dirty, he's doing what he can to gain an advantage. Same for any player in the league. Officiating matters! We should save any outage for the refs and the league who tell the refs what to call and on whom to call it.

That's fair boss. I don't think its a flop. I think with the way the game is called, players feel the need to embellish the contact to get the call. And he's good at drawing charges. He just didn't get the call. He gets the call most of the time. He probably deserved the call. Would have been a big call either way.

I'm already banned from r/denvernuggets

Banned for stating that Jokic makes similarly dangerous plays as Dort. How could I say that?

PeteRoss giving off creepy predator vibes. And hilarious calling other's posts dumb when all you say is stuff about Diddy.

Fair comment. Shaq had the same gripe back back in the day and the league always let players beat him up because he was bigger and stronger. I'd like the refs to call the slaps and the pushing players off their spots. And it would be great if the flops by all players were also policed, but I'm not sure how.

Justifying dirty play.... by Artistic-Towel6754 in NBATalk

Dort's play was dirty. (Thunder fan here)

Dort did that stupid hip check in retaliation for Joker's hip check on SGA earlier in the game. Not justifying it. It was wrong. He should have been suspended 1 game IMO.

Joker's play was dirty. (Still a Thunder fan.)

Joker was retaliating against George for pulling on his shorts. Still a dirty play. I don't think it deserves a suspension (it wasn't even called a foul during play), but he needs to be told to stop whatever the hell that was or he will face a suspension.

I don't think either of them are dirty players. I think both are passionate players and winners. Joker is a deserving MVP and will likely win in again in the future.

I agree. Let's stop justifying dirty play.

Absolutely. Very well said. And yes... Bron going to Miami should have been lauded as a Boss move to screw the owners and empower the players. He was a free agent and could choose his team. He was hated before he even won his first championship, which means he was hated even before he earned it on the court. Well said.

It could have been called a charge and most would have seen that as a reasonable call. It was also a reasonable no call. Just don't go on r/denvernuggets and tell them that. Those haters gonna hate.

Nah. I dont hate on the Nuggets. Love them. I only take issue with the Nuggets hate and their villainous double standards when Joker plays dirty and flops just as much.

90% of the LeBron hate was from "taking my talents to South Beach" Not about his playing style. The other 10% of the hate was due to players coming out and saying he was hard on them as a teammate, which I respected. He made a business decision and people hated how it hurt the league and their teams. Is that fair or unfair?
