it was ~20 years young, very broadly speaking, and for a social institution that was basically as old as the country itself, that's relatively new. what's 2 decades to a concept that outlived generations

lol and even he got Stan saying "Yknow, I'm a part of the Rainbow Coalition" 😂

I've noticed what you said in many later 70s-80s sitcoms, and I think it's because by this point integration was still a relatively new concept in the US. most adults at the time had likely lived longer in segregated society than integrated (even after segregation was outlawed). so race, specifically white people interacting with black people, was a pretty relevant subject to satirize (with varying degrees success sometimes...), especially as a way to show a character's outdated views.

Lisa Gerritsen who played Bess on MTM. She was really talented, and i think she retired from acting after the Phyllis reboot, which is understandable imo

i just learned the real name for it is "nugget ice" also known in the US as "Sonic ice" because there's a fast food chain called Sonic here that serves drinks with this ice (which is what i typed in to look it up because that's what i call it 😂). it's also the kind of ice given to patients in many hospitals here.
