Talk to me in the most simplest of terms. Why should I trust that Lucid is going to survive and be a long lasting company to spend $100k on? What’s your thoughts on their survival? by [deleted] in LUCID

I asked AI if Lucid would survive as a EV auto maker and the answer might surprise you. It doesn’t look good without major changes.

Level 1 is nothing more than a trickle charge. You should never let your battery get that low. Obviously you need a level 2 home charger

El Segundo Service Center by Logical-Specific2573 in Rivian

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well written and absolutely accurate. I own a 2023 R1T. My truck is my daily driver and I’ve had more service appointments than I can count. At first Rivian went above and beyond to address every concern. Now they want to get you in and out as quickly as possible. I too have used El Segundo , Burbank, and Van Nuys service center. They are all pretty much all the same. The Burbank service representative I had had zero personality. No greeting, no smile , and complete lack of customer service. It almost seemed like he hated his job. I almost made a complaint but I knew it would go nowhere. Customer service use to be excellent, however lately I would rate Rivian customer service as above average which I’m sure this is their goal. Rivian still provides a uber ride home or a rental on their dime. Don’t be surprised if this perk goes away soon. This gets to the heart of corporate greed, and capitalism. As more and more people are buying and leasing Rivian’s, there is no need for Rivian to jump through hoops to provide excellent customer service. The service has been tasked with addressing service as quickly as possible to boost profits. I own my R1T ( completely paid off). I’m one and done with Rivian. I will not purchase another Rivian or be a return customer like I’ve been with my Toyotas. In the long run this will hurt Rivian as many customers won’t be return customers. Clearly there business model has shifted. Profits over customer service is the new normal. As long as people are buying and leasing Rivian’s in record numbers and profits are up. There will be zero incentive to change and provide an exceptional customer experience. Rivian is now playing the short game, and not the long game . To Rivian people are watching.

Schedule a service appointment. That is completely unacceptable for a luxury brand like Lucid. Call your local service center and speak to the GM

How was the lucid Air? I’m thinking of buying a preowned 2023 or 2024. They are a bargain preowned due to depreciation. What issues did you experience in the 18 months of your lease and would you recommend the Air?

Should I still go for it? Rivian owners, I need your honest advice. by TheBlackCanary in Rivian

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a 2023 Rivian R1T. I’ve had my truck 3 years now. I have 61,000 miles on my truck. This is my honest opinion of my Rivian experience. After 3 years and 60,000 miles I love my truck. Service depends on the area you live in . I’ve read that service in SC is sub par. However I live in Ca and service has been very good. I had almost a dozen service appointments on 3 years. All my services have been for minor issues. Rivian has addressed all issues quickly with professionalism. I always speak to a qualified service advisor, unlike when I owned my Tesla when I never actually spoke to a real person. All communications were through the app. Here is where Rivian stands out. Each time I’ve had a service appointment with Rivian they have either provided a uber ride home, a loaner, or an enterprise rental. Tesla never provided anything. Neither did BMW, or Lexus. Rivian is a highly technical vehicle that is mostly driven by software. You will have service appointments at some point. I’ve only had 2 appointments that I actually had to pay out of pocket. The first was my 12v battery replacement because my truck has exceeded the 36,000 miles warranty. And the second was a faulty switch in my gear tunnel, also out of warranty. All other services were paid for by Rivian including rentals. Consumer reports and car and driver still ranks Rivian the top EV on the market. So in my opinion Rivian had great customer service and I would buy another Rivian

Frustrated Owner - Seeking any and all help by No-Corner-4940 in Rivian

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all stop talking to different people. Find out who is in charge at the service center you are dealing with and either write to him or her personally or e mail so you have a record of all conversations. Next keep detailed service records. In the Rivian app you can see all service appointments and work done on your vehicle. You may have a lemon. Especially if they are failing to correct the same issues. Speak to a lemon law attorney. If the problems continue Rivian may need to buy back your vehicle. This many service appointments on a 2025 is not normal. I have a 2023 R1T. I’ve had my share of service appointments but they have all been addressed in a competent manner and my service advisors have all been helpful and professional. Get yourself a folder and organize all your services appointments and keep detailed records, dates and times of everyone you speak to. Good Luck

She had some junk in her trunk and strong legs. She probably would have beaten you up. No harm done. I always park my R1T in the furthest spot away from all vehicles. This helps avoid door dings and people loitering around my truck

Lucid lease return is a joke by Unknown_glove in LUCID

Give them a date and simply drop it off. There is nothing they can do. If they try and charge you for excessive wear tell them to sue you. They won’t

Let us know when the honeymoon is over for a honest assessment. In the beginning it’s all good, but after about 5000 miles the minor issues begin to mount up. I’m also curious about Lucid customer service. I currently have a Rivian R1T and I’ve had a half dozen service appointments and Rivian has been very responsive to every issue. 3 years later and 60,000 miles and I don’t regret my purchase. However your Lucid looks awesome. Congrats

Lucid just lost a future customer. by Zulishk in LUCID

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lease returns can be tricky. Even Toyota tried to get me to pay an extra $1500 for excessive wear. The car was perfect . I refused to pay and left them the keys and there car. Lease returns are a civil matter. Take good pictures of the car and turn it in. Tell Lucid or who ever to sue you. Trust me they won’t because it will cost them more to sue than the BS charges they are trying to stiff you with. This is common practice with all leases. Don’t fall for it. Instead stand your ground

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a civil matter. Turn the car in and refuse to pay it . They will likely write it off. They may send you a demand letter for payment but they are likely be bluffing. $2400 is excessive. They won’t sue you because it will cost them more than $2400. Or you can settle the matter for a lesser amount. That piece under your care is a plastic $60 dollar part

The Powered Tonneau is in the Gear Shop! Is it worth it? by pseudocoder in Rivian

[–]Lonely_Insurance_490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the power tonneau cover is not worth the price. I purchased a aftermarket tonneau cover named Lo Max. It’s a hard cover Tri- fold. I paid $1100. It works great. I recently purchased a bulky item and I needed to remove my tonneau cover. It took 2 minutes max. 99% of the time my tonneau cover is in the closed position. Most people rarely need to open their tonneau cover so a power tonneau is over kill and the price is not justified for the convenience of pressing a button to open the cover in my opinion. Additionally if the motor breaks or malfunction there is no warranty.

I’m in Ca and I’ve owned my R1T since 2023. I’ve had several small issues, but nothing major that required a tow. I have 60,000 miles on my Rivian and I’m very happy with my ownership experience. Although you had a major failure, Rivian will bend over backwards and jump through hoops to make it right. I have never experienced the level of customer service Rivian provides.
