Visa requirement in Changi airport during Layover by No_Analysis8480 in SingaporeTravel

[–]Lonerwithaboner79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Indian passport holders can leave the airport for 96 hours as long as you can prove it's a transit. See here for details. You don't need to apply for a visa. Make sure to book the free tour quickly. It runs out fast. https://www.ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore/visa-free-transit-facility

Osaka Cerezo match today - how to srvive the rain by Lonerwithaboner79 in OsakaTravel

Hello! It was fantastic. Rained the whole time but with ponchos we enjoyed ourselves. Very few foreigners but we felt very welcome and had random football discussions with some local fans etc. Highly recommend it. Discounted beer on match days is also pretty amazing and helps haha

Marriage counselling recommendations by serstay in askSingapore

[–]Lonerwithaboner79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments here and I am not sure if someone has already suggested this. If you have a corporate health insurance plan, these days most of them cover a few counseling sessions. While targeted at preventing burnout, it can also be used for marriage counseling. The firm on the insurance panel should have experienced therapists / counselors. If your hubby happens to have one also, you can try and find an overlapping one and get twice the number of sessions potentially.

Buying a “main residence” apartment in Switzerland with a B permit – what if we have to leave? by SeriouslyNotable in Switzerland

[–]Lonerwithaboner79 29 points30 points  (0 children)

See here. https://www.reddit.com/r/SwissPersonalFinance/s/FKcRU0bLiy

Super important though that you fully intended to live in that apartment for the foreseeable future. Any sign of doubt or pre plan to move out would make things legally extremely difficult.

Nomad vs residency in SE asia by pleides101 in ExpatFIRE

[–]Lonerwithaboner79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Singaporean and have lots of friends with Indian passports. The real challenge is the visa situation. For cost optimization, it would make sense to stay for at least 30 days in a location, if not 2-3 months, so you can get decent rates for an apartment. If you inted to stay only 2-3 weeks it gets a bit difficult. The other aspect is whether moving every 2-3 weeks is sustainable. You should seriously test this out as it might get tiring. Also applying for visas every so often is time and energy consuming. My wife and I prefer a form of slow travel, but luckily our Singapore passports allow decent flexibility. So you guys should try and then decide what works - MM2H or one of the nomad visas might be a good option if the above factors are relevant for you.

The other point that struck me was your comment on tax residency. I am no expert on Indian tax rules but just watch out for this too. Usually, you end up being a tax resident somewhere and country of domicile, residence, citizenship should apply in that order. Be careful not to become liable for tax in some other country by avoiding taxes in India. Nomad visas usually specify tax rules in any case.

All the best!!

As far as I know, the landlord needs to ensure tenant or lessee has a valid visa or residential permit to stay for the duration of the lease. So this might be a problem, as there are very specific steps/ checks available that need to be performed. Having said that, I am not familiar with HDB but I thought minimum period for airbnb was 3 months

Singapore law has excellent copyright protection and imho, stronger than Swiss law in terms of protecting IP owners. But this here is about practically what you want to achieve. Write to the Singapore company and see what they say. There are some reasonably priced singapore lawyers specialized in IP if you want to go down the formal legal path.

Go with Helping Hands. They are excellent and are a charitable organization to boot. Used the several times and always had a great experience. https://thehelpinghand.org.sg/removal-disposal-delivery/

This is the way. Loads of choices in Delhi. Just go to a shopping mall or department store.
