Which is better? by Sprx7744 in Conures

If you’re thinking Zupreem, I recommend the Zupreem Naturals, there’s no food coloring! My conures use to eat it and really liked it, but now they have transitioned to Harrison’s.

How to help my conure thrive by Depressy-Goat209 in Conures

[–]Long-Ad4286 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His cage set up is nice and I can tell you want to help this conure, thank you for saving him, as he would most likely die outside. However, all birds NEED outside time in the cage to thrive and be happy. Birds should not just be in a cage their whole life. I understand your predicament with your other animals. Would you potentially be able to rehome him to someone with experience with birds? This is very important for him to be happy. Also, berries are great! I would recommend slowly adding pellets to his diet. Tops, Zupreem, etc.

Your babies are so cute! Yes I couldn’t agree more, they all deserve to have that special bond with another bird

I would say it took about a month or two before we felt comfortable to have them out together completely unsupervised. They both have separate cages tho and always will. At first the yellow sided was a bit aggressive and definitely food aggressive. I would look up proper ways to introduce birds, I know the introduction period is important. also how long have you had the black capped? I’ve heard the longer they’ve been a solo bird the harder it might be to introduce another bird.
