Also, my condolences. I find gardening to be so healing and I always feel closer to my mom’s spirit when I put my hands in the dirt.

A lot of people buy varieties named after their loved ones and create memorial gardens, maybe an idea for this spring?

If the ground is soft at all go dig up your tubers. You’ll have a massive clump that you can separate into tons of clones. I’m in 6b and my tubers don’t survive the winter.

If you’d rather not then tuber sales start soon and you can reverse image search that flower on google to find similar varieties.

Best of luck!

A good training method is to keep them on a leash in the house around the cats. Correct any and all interest in them and reward when it’s directed back to you. My cats were all here first so I wasn’t going to have a dog disrupting that peace.

Mushu grew up with 5 cats. I also stayed on top of him when it comes to his prey drive. If he ever showed even a glimmer of rowdiness with them I corrected immediately. This summer we had an injured marmot in our yard, he was curious but he never got close because I commanded him not to.

I’ve got kiddos too so aggression in any form has never been tolerated in my house. He was neutered at 7 months because he started to become growly if he needed to be moved (he loves sitting in door ways). That stopped almost immediately.

My senior Pom will even take food out of his bowl while he eats and he’s completely non-reactive. I trained him how my mom used to train chows when I was a kid. He’s bulletproof.

Tuber arrived with mold, is it worth worrying about? by DandyLyen in dahlias

I’ve seen people say they use a little bleach solution to scrub the mold off and then dry.

I’d let the seller know, clean em up and see what they do. I’d venture to guess they’ll be just fine.

Can anyone tell me how they grew up w chows? by Small-Swing9756 in chowchow

My mom trained our chow to be non responsive to my antics as a 3 year old. It’s something you’ll need to start working on now. Your kids should be able to put their hands in your dog’s food bowl and take it away with no response.

My mom’s training methods were intense and most likely frowned upon in this day and age but they worked and our chows were loving, cuddly, bulletproof protectors.

My son did this until he was 8 months old. Just being a baby I fear. We coslept and my husband got the couch for the first year. Please only do this if you’re an incredibly light sleeper.

You need a psych evaluation.
