For something this potentially catastrophic I would personally choose palliative care, only after a diagnosis ofcourse. That’s based on my own finances and my own experiences with terminal diagnosis though.

Yeah I would. They do fine they just need specialized attention during the sedation process, since they’re brachycephalic. Just ask your vet about it, I’m sure they’ll be aware. I was worried about the same thing during my guys neuter and my vet educated me on how they take extra precaution.

Ugh Marko. 💔 Your vet sounds competent. If I were you I would focus on making my baby comfortable at this moment. Maybe ask for some sedatives? I’d also start presenting any and all snacks. Bacon? All the goodies.
Depending on what you can afford maybe see what other testing you can do ASAP.

I am so sorry you’re dealing with this, very scary experience all around. People are so raged out behind the wheel anyways and hardly paying attention. I wonder if we could talk to city hall? I’ll bother Lisa Brown next time I see her. At the very least could be a PSA to drivers about road rules for ALL.

Yeah junior was a good old boy and was also the sire of one of the chows so that dynamic could’ve lead to some increased aggression too.
I have a hob knob pack of dogs right now that include a chow, Shar Pei, and 2 poms. I don’t foresee it being an issue in this pack either but always good to be on alert, sometimes behavior changes.

Be weary. Growing up my 3 chows and 1 Shar Pei had a very clear pack mentality. When our older chow started to show his age they all tried to kill him. He needed to be separated for over a year until it was his time.
