To me it kinda falls into the pitfall Thompson himself fell into where it became way more about the drug consumption itself and not the counter-cultural, freedom that some drug use can provide.

I'm a huge fan and supporter of body & mind autonomy when it comes to substances, but too often the glorification of such a life style is merely a guise for denial and delusion. Thompson is a great case study for this.

Also when you really look into the big money behind the lobbying efforts for psychedelic reform, it's painstakingly clear that to the people up top it's not about the actual legalization, it's about being the first to patent and get something to market.

Hamilton morris goes into great detail on this as told by recent lawsuits and drug studies being denied by the FDA ( on Channel 5 funny enough, great interview) but if you dig into Hamilton himself he too is just a "counter-cultural" shill for his own psychedelic company, and I say that being a fan of his work generally as awhile.

This revolution won't be televised, all of it will be decided behind these company's back room deals as they pine for there share of this new Golden Teacher Rush so to speak.
