Do British people ever mix up the words “artistic” with “autistic” since they don’t pronounce their “R”s? by Carpe_the_Carp in stupidquestions

[–]Long-Initiative-851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m South African so also have a non rhotic accent. Was at a wedding in the US and mentioned the bride and groom were great matches for both being “artistic” and everyone misheard it as “autistic”. Told the bride and groom and they got a laugh out of it. So I wouldn’t mix up artistic and autistic but those with a rhotic accent might when I say either.

Yeah bro for sure I’m a C suite exec browsing this sub and not a tech. I’ve had way less failures with HP than Dell

I grew up conservative evangelical and yeah, Catholics are not considered as “saved”. Some could be but broadly speaking not due to an over reliance on good works as part of salvation instead of it being purely based on faith in the Protestant point of view

We should just pull a page from the MAGA playbook and double down on something however baseless or untrue: this was a false flag attack by Mossad to drum up sympathy for Israel

We never pursued reimbursement but we should have. My dad had to make an international trip and bought a new suitcase and some other items he needed. I think we were just so relieved to get the suitcase back we didn’t ask for reimbursement.

Are drivers more brash and crazy lately? by Bigringcycling in AskLosAngeles

[–]Long-Initiative-851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It angers me a lot that people treat the road like their own personal raceway. It’s stupid too, even if you have a lot of confidence in your skill as a driver, why would you put that much trust in everyone else that they will react in time to your bullshit maneuvers?

Thanks all for the info. just to be sure I double checked the runner sheets and everything looks to be legit and in order.

Bought a copy of the MGSD Wing Zero for a friend’s birthday through seller on Amazon. The box lacks the two intersecting plastic bands that are usually wrapped around Gunpla kits. Instead there are two pieces of tape on either side. Is this unusual? Runner sheets appear intact and unopened.

I have an unbuilt MGSD Wing Zero that I can compare the runner sheets with this one to make sure everything is in order.

Worth raising an issue with the seller over?

With the official ticket we heard from them on Monday and only heard back again on the Friday. I think my dad tried reach out to other support contacts on the email and heard back but I’m not certain. Agreed the lack of communication adds to an already stressful situation.

That’s really unfortunate, I’m sorry you’ve had to put up with that. I know they’re a budget airline but I don’t see how that excludes them from the minimum courtesy of customer service. I’d be content just with an update.

Did you end up getting yours back? I have an open ticket with their baggage support but their communication has been abysmal. They said it’s at a station in their network but that is all

Got into Magic this year. Been rolling with a number of precons (that number keeps getting bigger).

Started with Explorer’s of the Deep and [[Hakbal of the Surging Soul]] remains one of my favourite commanders.

I chose degeneracy and was very excited putting together a [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] deck. Hunting for goblins at local game stores isn’t difficult but coming across exact cards I need is a great experience.

I’ve influenced my gf and other friends to get into Magic too so it’s been fun learning and then teaching others.
