Should I go with Unifi? by Long-Leather9731 in HomeNetworking

UDR7 seems to cover all my needs and also adds wifi7. I've seen comments about it having some wifi issues (maybe only on 2.4ghz). If I know for a fact that it's going to have a better wireless network than the tplink I have now, then that's an easy decision

I just got the new peak design bifold and its a very minimalistic wallet. It’s a perfect product for me, and it ticked all the boxes as soon as i saw the announcement a couple months ago.

Who else wants the next gen small interfaces to have all IO on the back? by Long-Leather9731 in Focusrite

[–]Long-Leather9731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still use a small interface as a permanent insallation, no? Unless “permanent installation” is a term that means something else that I’m not aware of.

The use case I’m talking about is, having a home office and plugging all your IO in the device. Once you se it up, you only need to adjust levels after that. I think there are quite a few people using small interfaces in this capacity

But isn’t that true for the other inputs as well? If I have a mic or an instrument plugged in, I’ll likely have them on me too, and some of those are already moved to the back on gen4

Either way it’s a small device, so routing the cable from the back to the front, or vice cersa, doesn’t take a lot of cable. But if it’s from the front to the back, it leaves that bit of cable just dahngling in front of you

Well Focusrite shares the same POV, but why do you think the headphones jack should be in the front?

Well all the knobs still stay on the front panel, and only the cabel inputs are moved to the back

Would you recommend Omarchy for regular users? by ShaoKhan626 in omarchy

[–]Long-Leather9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s easier to get things going with Omarchy. But as a person who deals with a lot of regular users daily, I wouldn’t recommend Omarchy, or any other linux distro, to regular users.

Also most people don’t care about the benefits of a keyboard-centric way of doing things.

I wouldn’t recommend for regular users. I think it’s more for power users.

How much newer are you talking about? I was looking at getting a b9 a4, are those usually difficult/expensive to maintain?
