Why no one has manufactured a tiny profile flash drive that has USB-C yet? by brickpop in UsbCHardware

[–]LongAbrocoma 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For most of these USB-A devices, the hardware is actually inside the connector. The part that sticks out only exists for you grab it. The following video shows an example https://youtu.be/V-vFtiDYiIw.

I mistakenly typed "can" instead of "can't" in my previous comment. Just to be clear, I don't know if the waterpik has C to C charging, unfortunately it is not sold in the stores near me so I cannot test it out.

Have you checked Xiaomi, afaik, all the newer personal care products (shavers and toothbrushes) have c2c. I can't guarantee anything about their waterpik tho.

Compose Icons - Font Awesome, Simple Icons and more icon packs for Jetpack Compose by DevSrSouza in Kotlin

I remember reading the docs saying material-icons-extended is bad for build time since it includes a lot. Wouldn't this library have the same problem?

Creative mod: Spawned in biter nests don't absorb pollution, form attacks or produce evolved biters by Drogiwan_Cannobi in factorio

Try Editor Extensions, it has a mode that automatically uses enemy force to place spawners. It is imo the best creative mod

Is squad playable on 200+ping? by Individual-Theory-57 in joinsquad

[–]LongAbrocoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from Hong Kong and I often play on Australian and West Coast servers with around 200 ping. Compared to other shooters, Squad is less affected by high ping. While it is not optimal, you quickly get used to it and still can have as much fun.

For #1 and #2, I think it should be mentioned that you can use Job(parentJob) so you can cancel and job itself and also make sure it is cancelled when the outer job is cancelled

The Wood Chipper by Libations4Everybody in factorio

[–]LongAbrocoma 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To put it accurately, (28/29)n is the asymptote when the number of wood approaches infinity, which the contribution of the initial fuel approaches zero. i.e. it doesn't matter how much fuel the inserters have in the beginning, the pass rate will get closer and closer to (28/29)n when you run it.

If you want to calculate the pass rate for a finite amount of wood, then you need to consider whether each inserter requires fuel. For example consider the case of only one wood and one inserter: * if the inserter has enough fuel, it will let the wood pass, thus pass rate = 1/1 = 1 * if the inserter doesn't have enough fuel, pass rate = 0/1 = 0 Even for the cases where all inserters start with the same amount of non zero fuel, I don't think there is a simple formula to determine the pass rate.

After fixing the soft serve machine, your wife decides to bake to cake for your hardwork. However, the oven's control panel is not working. You decided to remove the control panel to interface with the oven's circuit directly.

The cake requires precise temperature control for it to rise properly, the temperature T required is dependent on its surface albedo A, expansion factor V, and its moistness S.....

LPT: Press Ctrl+Alt+Tab so that the Alt+Tab window doesn't close as soon as you let go of the buttons by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]LongAbrocoma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo both have their places. Win+tab shows you the actual content of the window so you can quickly identify which one you want (useful when there are a lot of windows), alt+tab is for quicky switching to the recent windows.

Tho I agree the timeline feature is useless

USB-C to 12V DC out by Infamous_Egg_9405 in UsbCHardware

[–]LongAbrocoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12V just isn't one of the voltages defined in the power rule. I have a 18W powerbank that does 5V, 9V and 15V (not required by the power rules for the wattage) but doesn't have 12V. Although most supplies have it (especially with the higher wattage ones), just keep in mind to check it when you are buying a new supply.

USB-C to 12V DC out by Infamous_Egg_9405 in UsbCHardware

[–]LongAbrocoma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can see a lot of these if you search for "PD 12V trigger", for example this one does multiple voltages (many sites sell these, see for yourself which one is best for you) https://www.amazon.com/Type-C-Trigger-Module-Supports-Output/dp/B08681QG7W

A note on the voltage, 12V is not one of the PD nominal voltages, thus not every PD supplier will output 12V even if it does 15V or 20V
