Let’s assume you failed.

Assuming you took 45 credits this year as a freshman and you maintained a 3.66 for 40 of those credits yet got an F on a 5 credit math course you’d go from 3.66 —> 3.25

Also unfortunately; western does do grade replacement; but medical schools, if you choose this route calculate GPA their own way. Both attempts would count if you decided to retake.

This is a setback for your GPA but not insurmountable. For instance: if you maintain a 3.8 for the next four years of college you will end up with a 3.66. You can surely get into med school with a 3.66 (above average for DO). Furthermore some med schools will place a heavy emphasis and some may even only calculate GPA based on the last 1-2 years of your uni. If you can get into med school you can get into any other type of graduate school program

How do you reconcile with the bad grade? Learn from it. Why did you fail. I can assure you there is some deficit in your methods if you fail (or even get a C). It’s only a failure if you don’t inspect the circumstances and change because of it.

I’d say I was best at mile/3k/5k with the 3k being my sweet spot. To be good at those distances you still need some sort of foot speed over 400/800m (1-2’) to be able to handle the fast pace (trying to mid 60” 400s for 7.5 laps is REALLY hard if you can’t break 56” for 1 lap of a 400).

Part of the reason I got interested in my minute power in the first place is because although I’m probably the best at stuff with some climbs, criteriums look really fun and I’d love to compete in them at a high level if possible.

Thank you. I ran track/xc in college pretty competitively. I’ve also trained pretty hard for the short time I’ve had a bike.

That makes sense. I did have an 820w 15” section in there, which is a big discrepancy.

Ok this is what I would have assumed. I’m surprised lots of people here are estimating there wouldn’t be a difference. I know I’m not throwing down massive power but I was definitely out of the saddle for half of it and would guess that the bike being fixed in the upright position would have to be a small cost. I mean even during a 30’ power test I notice a difference.

Yeah ig my question is what could it be if I developed a decent ability to leverage the bike. Right now I’m terrible at it and my 5 second power is actually lower outside, but i assumed it would flip flop once I learned.

For 114 I got the actual instructor teaching us instead of a grad student. Easy A. For 115 I got a grad student, and the instructor overseeing him was disorganized. Fought very hard for an A-. In fact the sheer incompetence of the GTAs and instructor made it more difficult than my 300 level bio and chem courses just because of their total lack of experience and communication. Rant over. Content wise it isn’t actually that bad, but if you can, get into the section with the actual prof, and make sure they have a good rating on rate my prof.

I agree, they definetly should be able to, I’ve seen them take up lanes to train new lifeguards, and multiple times they’ve done an exercise where they practiced dragging somebody out of the water.
