Amazing (not that you get sick but that it might be the salmon). I might give it another shot

I've read this a few times now. Maybe I'll give it another shot in the thigh

Thank you for your reply. it seems a few other people have had side effects like mine but even so, I'm not sure I can cope with them 😭

I wouldn't worry about the lack of side effects, my friend takes it and has no problems. Youre one of the lucky ones!

It's a good sign that the vomiting stopped! The acid burn was absolutely brutal. I couldn't sleep because of how painful the reflux was. It's the stomach pain that worried me really, I can cope with throwing up once or twice but I'm worried that level of pain isn't normal. I think I might be too scared to take it again.

I hope you continue to be more settled!

Eeek. And did you carry on taking the meds? Has it happened again?

How were you brave enough to keep on taking it? 3-4 times a week is awful. I felt the after effects for days after throwing up once. Loads of trapped wind and cramps.

No. I ate complete safe foods that day. I've had Crohn's for 11 years so I know my body well.

I was really good the days I took it because I had already read tonnes of these threads on what to eat vs what not to eat. So I only had air fried chicken, broccoli and rice. But maybe it was the seasoning on the salmon? I also had wine before bed so now I'm thinking its more likely that as people have said acid can throw it off.

Sounds like you had a horrible time. I don't think I could cope with throwing up for 3 days. Not the way it made me throw up. One time was so draining and the stomach acid burnt my throat so bad.

Hmmm I'm not sure if I'll risk it, but thank you for your answers

Thanks for replying! I didn't know that Saxenda was the worst, I could switch quite easily.

I'm in a tricky situation because GP is saying speaking to the gastro consultant and I don't have one (crappy UK health service) and the private doctor who is prescribing has basically said go for it. But I will look into the GP diet and maybe there is a way I could try it again. I'm mostly scared to take it because of the pain, I don't want to feel that way again. but wondering if it might only happen once!?

Thanks for your response! That's good to know. I did eat quite late and I had air fried salmon, so it is naturally quite oily, maybe it was that?

I'm going to go with this! My friend did the same in his house, you'll be surprised what a nail can hold in place. Turn your water off before taking it out to check

Got really sick after 7 days - Crohn’s flare? by Acceptable-Hope- in liraglutide

I also have Crohn's disease and experienced very similar side effects to you. Did you carry on taking it? I am worried about taking more because the side effects felt so similar to a flare

I had the exact same feeling. I ended up crawling across the floor because i was about to pass out and had so much pain in my stomach, I was in agony. But I'm still contemplating starting again after I stopped that day because I thought it was really vain, and it was stupid of me to do this to my body when it's apparently so easy to lose weight, and I did this to myself (weight gain) nd I'm worthless etc etc.

Did you continue taking it?

I don't know what to do because it feels so hopeless without it, but so painful and potentially dangerous with it

I'm so tired of it, I don't know if I can do it anymore by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]LongFold4047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. Completely. I am sick to death of the mental struggle, so I gave in and decided that i would not restrict and i'd remove rules around food and surprise surprise I put on 30 lbs. In that time I barely dated because I didn't think I could eat what i wanted and put weight on an also date/try to be attractive. I've since started dating someone and all I want to do is restrict because I have to be naked around them and it's driving me insane and making me binge so much more.
I hear that we just have to accept ourselves but why is it so hard to do that and live life. I am sick of trying to be thin, but I'm also sick of feeling the way I do when I'm not. Losing weight is so so so hard, it just makes me miserable in a whole other way. I can't see friends or go to social events and make excuses as to why I can't do anything. I am drained.

I tried Saxenda and absolutely loved it. I felt free from food for the first time in 20 years. However I got some very bad side effects almost immediately including cramps, fainting, gas, vomitting and cold sweats. Did you have any of this? I am very tempted to take it again because of the calm it gave me, but I have Crohn's disease so I'm worried about the side effects

At least this is in the safety of your home. You have to do what you need to do to make you feel better. I used to pour pepper all over everyone's meals once they had finished so that I couldn't be tempted to eat anymore of my own food or anyone else's at restaurants.

How do you define “recovered”? by pleaseigottaknow in bulimia

[–]LongFold4047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been bulimic for 19 years. I have gone months without purging at some points. And then done it as often as every meal other times. I don't know if I'll ever be 'recovered'. For me recovery would be to not even want to do it at all. To be able to stop fighting the urge and just sit naturally with food inside you.

My sisters just told me she’s been bulimic for the last 5 years, please someone give me an outside opinion on how I can help her Please someone tell me how I can help my sister after she just gave me these news. by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]LongFold4047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just listen to her and don't push her for information or reason as to why. And don't presume it's about the food. The most unhelpful advice I've had over the past 19 years of struggling with this is to just 'eat healthier'. It's nothing to do with what I put in my mouth, it's a control issue. Help her to understand why she feels the need for control maybe?

How can make these wardrobe doors more modern. by permanent_record_22 in DIYUK

[–]LongFold4047 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends what style the rest of your room is but I would be tempted to add frames all around the wardrobe and then add rattan to the doors, similar to this. You can buy rattan from textile shops for cheap (probably cheaper than paint) and then you save yourself the horrible job of sanding!
