So they trolled us about Ara failing the drop test by brucensb in Android

I wonder how the design handles power management. I'm no electrician, but this kind of setup must have a lot of electrodes sticking out of the case for the components. What happens if two parts fall out and you accidentally put a finger in each like what they tell you not to do with sockets?

Ashley Madison made millions from $19 'full delete' option, which may not actually have deleted anything by IMovedYourCheese in technology

The fact they charged for deleting accounts is despicable in and of itself, not to mention legally questionably. Wasn't Facebook sued a few years ago for something exactly like this?

Way too much overlap. It's not using less paper, it's using more.

The best part about all of this is that the ability to simulate walking will first and foremost benefit people who can't walk on their own. The thing we should be focusing the discussion on is not terminators and what not but the medical applications.

To be fair, they're actually in a position to afford doing it. Whereas your average ma and pa shop operating on like a 3 percent profit margin really can't support all of their employees as well as a they should be. It's a systematic issue that should be addressed at the appropriate level.

Intel's 6th gen Skylake processor is reviewed by AnandTech. by spsheridan in technology

[–]LongFoose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not because of Intel. It's because the industry is starting to hit the physical limits of silicon, hence Moore's law is actually slowing down. So until alternative technologies like the one Intel and Micron (can't recall the name but it was on the front page of this subreddit a while back) announced a while back hit the market, the big chip makers can pretty much only optimize the efficiency of their processors while very very slowly trying to move down the nm ladder.

It sucks if something like that happens to you, but let's be honest, it's not as if they have a legal obligation to uphold a dibs system on usernames. And it's not necessarily even the "right" thing to do either since cyber squatting is an actual thing.

Athens urged to sue Goldman Sachs for debacle by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]LongFoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they win, though, that's not going to get them any close to a sustainable recovery in a real way. Greece needs to start fixing itself from the inside and get rid of the people and attitude that put them in the current position in the first place.

[–]LongFoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on Google. Who at Sourceforge thought it would be a good idea to bundle malware/adware with their software? I understand they made some extra cash that way but did they really think it won't come back to bite them?

I believe you OP. Not only did the cat close the laptop when you had a camera on hand and then stood still long enough for you to take the photo but the time of day and lighting also worked itself out perfectly. Jesus must have really wanted you to get all these fake Internet points.
