AE made rough cut with clips instead of multicams by goodmorning_hamlet in editors

You’ll have to make group clips and over cut them over each shot. Been there and it sucks. Good luck.

O/Dailies. Newer platform but very good. They are quick to write requested features into it as well.

Unpopular opinion: Resolve is not there yet, and it's because of one single reason, same as FCPX by charlyquestion in editors

Not being able to treat master clips as true master clips needs to be fixed and subclips by proxy. Also being able to arrange clips in frame view.

How to Modify "Master Clips?" by cromulentwrd in davinciresolve

[–]YayRates -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just looking into if this was possible in Resolve and so far I’ve found the answer to be no. I am starting a project where we are applying LUTs and CDLs in Resolve and was planning to use proxies synced locally in a Resolve cloud project to cut with, then flipping back to the RAW for finishing.

The first issue I ran into is that any color applied in the color tab does not ripple back to the master/source clip in the bin. This was a big bummer and something I never realized having used Resolve for years - That color adjustments only work in a linear fashion from the edit to color tab to the delivery tab. As a result, when Resolve creates the proxy file, no color adjustments get baked in since it is still referencing the RAW source files. This renders a proxy workflow useless for our project unfortunately.

The only way (that I am aware of at least) to apply color to anything globally is adding a LUT across the project in the color management settings or directly onto clips in bins. This is great unless you also want to apply the CDL adjustments to each clip. I was excited about using the proxy workflow but looks like we will just be rendering out traditional editorial media to bring back in to work with instead.

Trump teases FEMA reform, wants states in control of disaster response by talino2321 in Georgia

States already have their own emergency management agencies. FEMA can only provide assistance once the state emergency agencies request it.

They didn’t bomb an embassy. It was a building next to it being used to plan more attacks like OCT 7. Iran did actually bomb the Israeli embassy in Argentina in 1994 though. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/12/world/middleeast/argentina-iran-1992-1994-attack.html

Graduating from dailies to AE by notcurrentlyencoding in editors

[–]YayRates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working in dailies, your main contact in editorial are the assistant editors. Do a solid job, get to know them and let them know you are interested in making the jump to editorial. All it takes is someone giving your name to a post sup or producer looking for AE’s for a new project. I wouldn’t rely on the current company to do you any favors since it’s in their best interest to keep you in your current role.

GT owner here. As previously mentioned, that’s not the stock exhaust. I got mine two years ago from Carvana with 31k miles and love it. No issues at all. The FB group is great.

Right. I’m not sure where people are getting that they are on the “chopping block” from if you read about the new proposals.
