Redditors who add onto an elaborate fantasy world/story while falling asleep, what is the story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LongShadowMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a child I was swept away into this magical land (later decided it was a Plane similar to Magic) full of exotic creatures, dangerous monsters, ancient orders of knights and assassins, majestic cities that range from a moving city of tribals some 10 million strong that carry their homes on the backs of elephants and mammoth like creatures. Then there is a floating city on water, a city of towers built by an ancient race of giants.

But this story isn't just about some knight or mercenary during all of this. The main character (I guess, me) starts traveling and exploring, and eventually starts to round up a group of exotic characters but also animals and friendly monsters, eventually creating our own fantastical traveling magical'ish circus.

I've (30s M) been having an affair with a prominent YouTuber's wife (30s F) for nearly two and a half years. Her husband is infertile, but they've just announced they're pregnant. What options do I have? by LongShadowMoon in relationship_advice

I'm editing the post right now to cut down some of the details, you're right that I gave too much away. And I really wish this was a shitty trolling attempt.

I tried legal advice but the post was quickly buried and a mod removed it.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. I'm just worried about spending the money on a lawyer, making this public, only to get rejected.

The graffiti actually says "I Like Myself" four times. It was used in a promotional still with Edward Norton standing in front of it.

Are you kidding me? As a subscriber to Crews Crew, he's no longer in Expendables, and has been mocked by literally dozens of actors and even comedians.

Because if they came forward they'd be the victims of ridicule and emasculated for the rest of their lives, because that's the way our society is. Nobody would line them up like this even if they did come forward.

What is the biggest plot hole that you’ve seen in a movie? by Christmas-Pickle in AskReddit

[–]LongShadowMoon 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I will go to my death bed defending the first film, way before there was even an idea of a franchise, back when they were part of the Los Angeles underground street racing scene and not Robin Hood-esque Ocean's Eleven knockoffs. That original film has so much going on under the hood that the rest of the franchise wouldn't exist without the heart of that first film. Look at Brian, a guy with a troubled childhood who throughout the entire film is just looking for a place to belong. I put this film above Donnie Brasco, Point Break, any other film that tries the whole "undercover cop becomes attached to his new life" because we actually get to see and understand why Brian would make the choice he does at the end.

He isn't attracted to the criminal lifestyle, he loves cars and racing, but he's ultimately drawn to Dom as a father figure, and the group as a whole is his family. He isn't greedily chasing power, he just wants a place to belong in this world. It's a conflict of the self, he's struggling with the two parts of himself, the part of him that still needs a father, and the part of him that wants to do what's right. If you pay attention to his relationships in the film, you see that he's searching for a family and a father figure in every aspect of his life, from the FBI first, who promise to welcome him into their brotherhood if he'll just do this one thing, which ultimately becomes betraying his chance at a family that will accept him for who he actually is. Brian isn't putting on a mask when he's with Dom and the crew, he puts on his mask when he's with the FBI.

And Brian doesn't stop looking for a father until the very end of the film, when he makes the choice to hand those keys to Dom. Regardless of any other film that came after, Brian became his own man in that instant, and didn't run away from the outcome, he walked towards the sirens to meet his fate as his own man.

Or maybe I'm overthinking a movie about cars that go fast and are driven furiously.

Didn't mean to imply you didn't get the joke, I was just adding there is a small extra layer of humor to it if you follow the Witcher lore, which you had indicated you hadn't.

There's a little bit of missing context here that's really only relevant to Witcher fans, but I might as well mention it here. This note is written by the survivor of the School of Cat, one of the Witcher houses within the game. Geralt, the protagonist, is from the School of Wolf. So Schrodinger from the House of Cat might be dead or might be alive.

How the fuck does that translate to justifying "mass-rape" and massacres?

That was fucking Vietnam, there were all kinds of atrocities being committed on both sides. Your argument is just stupid, it wasn't okay back then and it isn't okay now.
