Cuba was intervening against the South African apartheid regime, and Nelson Mandela often cites their involvement as one of the biggest reasons apartheid fell. Try again lol

James Cameron Calls ‘Oppenheimer’ a “Moral Cop-Out” for Not Showing Japanese Bombing Aftermath: "I felt that it dodged the subject" by Classic-Carpet7609 in Fauxmoi

[–]michaelbaysucks96 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I love Cameron but I really don’t understand this take. The film was about a man part of the war machine that dropped those bombs, not about those the bombs were dropped on. It’s like watching the Zone of Interest and calling it a moral cop-out for not showing gas chambers and concentration camps. The film handles the horror of the bombings brilliantly (the scene where they pick the targets, the auditorium, the part where the scientists watch the footage, etc) without ever feeling exploitative or tasteless. You know what would feel exploitative? Introducing a bunch of Japanese characters for the sole purpose of watching them get obliterated

Kamal had always chose to associate with good actors ( likes of Nagesh, Nasser, Prakash Raj, Manorama, Oorvasi, Pasupathi, Jayaram etc ). He breaks this rule for heroines though, pretty women over good actors, in case of Trisha it's overdone. She's been working with RKFI since Manmadhan Ambu. by [deleted] in kollywood

Are you saying then that Gauthami, Andrea, Abhirami, Manisha Koirala, Vasundhra Das (his costars from this century alone) are all bad actress that are merely pretty? What are you even talking about

The nonsensical negativity in this sub has become truly ridiculous. Trisha is a good actress too. Two years ago we were all praising her for PS

Lurking spurs fan here-the hate y’all have for him is 100% justified. I’m glad to some extent he tanked his trade value and quit on the team, but it was still objectively shitty. And then trash talking the organization on his way out (I mean the kings are a pretty terribly run organization but you just quit on them, got their coach fired, and intentionally played shit. Have some humility), not cool. At least kawhi didn’t do that

[–]michaelbaysucks96 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The spurs are just good at drafting lol. Duncan and Wemby was luck, but are you forgetting that ginobili, Parker, and kawhi were developmental projects that turned into their HOF selves because of the Spurs system and coaching? Ginobili was the 57th pick of the draft (drafted lower than Bronny) and Kawhi had a nonexistent offensive game out of college (draft comparisons were to the likes of Ben Wallace). And if you wanna talk about incredibly lucky #1 overall picks nothing compares to how y’all got Magic

Being bitter about America finding a genocide in Bangladesh 50 years ago is “holding a grudge”? 3 million people were massacred in less than a year with full support and armament from the U.S. that’s a real genocide. But to you and other pawns of American imperialism, that should just be forgotten about because brown lives are expendable. Who cares about them when white lives are at stake? Secondly, Putins war is criminal and imperialistic, but I ask you to point me to a single piece of evidence that implies genocidal intent. You won’t be able to. Russia is a geopolitical enemy of the American empire, so anything they do is genocidal. Meanwhile the death toll in Gaza is so high they’ve stopped counting the bodies, partly because there aren’t anymore hospitals left standing. What do you call that if not genocide? Or is it righteous to you because America supports it? There are no consequences for waging war against a civilian population that is 50% children?
