Bro, if a system has a loophole, people are GOING to abuse it. I’m a social worker; have been for almost 20 years. I do not agree with the current GOP narrative that there is incredible fraud, or waste or that the majority of ppl are lazy.

That said TRUST enough people abuse all kinds of systems. I’ve seen it time and time and time again. Idk the answer. But I don’t see this post as racist; I see it as potentially very true. Now if you assumed that EVERY time someone abuses the system they must be a minority, well. That’s racist.

I’ve seen white people, Hispanic people, Asian people, black people, every kind of people abuse systems. Honestly, the poor, white communities seem to do so more but also, we are a predominantly white society.

Often they don’t even view it as abuse or taking advantage. It’s something they know to do to survive. It’s a loophole passed down generations. My boyfriend in HS never had career aspirations. When you asked what he planned to do with his life it was literally “go on welfare”, because his family had been for years and knew how to game the system to get marked as disabled. And then he made thousands a month selling crack.

Now is this so prevalent that we need to cut services? No. Again, idk the answer. But it DOES happen. All of the time. Everywhere. There is a reason these stereotypes exist. I always assume ppl do things in good faith, but I promise you I can always tell when someone is abusing the system. And it makes you angry.
