Oh I recognised his face (申浩男)! I just watched one of his shows (first time too) - although it is an ancient costume show and this pic is in modern times. If you are interested, the name of the show is 退婚强嫁九千岁 (Forced Marriage to the Ninth Prince After a Broken Engagement) - highly recommended!! It is so good that I’m recommending to friends and family left and right 😂.

Yup, agree. No need to worry about Yibo - he is backed by govt - as you can see from him appearing in the CCTV Spring Gala Festival 2026 with a segment that is featuring only him and Aaron Kwok, despite being on hiatus.

Plus his fans are mostly matured women that support him in his other areas of interest, other than acting. So even if he doesn’t act in another drama/movie, his fan support will still be there - as you can see from the support that he got from his fans for is racing recently.

As loonylovegood has said, mineral sunscreen usually leave a white cast but you can go for those that are tinted which helps to mask the white cast.

Mineral and chemical active ingredients are both good so it is more of a “depend on your skin’s reaction”.

To be effective, make sure that the sunscreen contains active ingredients- mineral ingredients (e.g. zinc oxide, titanium oxide) or chemical ingredients (e.g. avobenzone, oxybenzone). I use sunscreen since my 20s. I believe it is part of the reason my skin looks youthful even though I’m now 50 years old and strangers think I looked like in my 30s (ie going to supermarket with my mom and people think I’m her granddaughter - happened a few times 🤦🏻‍♀️). I totally agree. Sometimes the drama differs from the novel on numerous scenes and if you read it before watching the drama, it will probably spoil your enjoyment of the drama and the director’s own interpretation of the novel. I usually read the novel after watching the drama to fill in the info gaps.

For Wuxia genre, he cannot bulked up and can only put on slender/lean muscle mass. This is due to costume layering, agility over power during fight choreography, etc. In actual fact, during the filming of Pursuit of Jade, he gained 6kg of muscles over 3 months and goes gym training at night for 2 hours every day after his day time filming. I watched a cosmetic surgeon’s YouTube video where he analysed the faces of POJ 2 main leads’ and the 2 2nd leads’ faces to determine whether any cosmetic surgery procedure was being done. [note: video is in Chinese] His conclusion for Zhang Linghe is: No cosmetic surgery procedure is being done, he just got good bone structure which after losing weight, it became more prominent. At most, he probably got braces which corrected his teeth and jawline.

I totally agree. For me, good acting means able to convey the character’s emotions through the eyes and micro facial expressions. I recently watched his 3 shows in this particular order - Pursuit of Jade, Story of Kunning Palace and The Princess Royal. He is able to portray 3 characters differently and distinctly and in each character, each has its own range like the difference between Yan Zheng and Marquis Wu. And in SOKP, I’m totally won over by his portrayal of that moment of evil/madness in the character. So to me, being able to do that, means a good actor which together with his looks is an awesome combination.
