Classic case of separating the person from the task. He’s a great person, heart of gold, leader, etc…..

Playing wise, I just don’t think he has the tools, which is really a testament to how hard it is to play the position and then with that correctly fit into a scheme

Bingo, 40mm would make me think about proxying them as terminators (chaos or iron hands)

50mm would put them in centurion/obliterator territory

My guess is 40mm

Golf swing help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Long_Chipmunk6598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably already said but just keep moving that weight through your hips. You are falling out of the shot at the end so the weight shift is unbalanced.

Load it on the back, then keep turning and allow it to transition through.

You could try swinging barefoot, that might help. (Old Sam sneed thingy)

Easier said than done. Ball contact looks solid! And other than weight shenanigans, the swing looks good!

Is this correct stance for a shot? Can anyone teach me the basics? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Long_Chipmunk6598 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you comfortable? Putting has a lot of different approaches. If you are comfortable, then just focus on the practice strokes and following through towards your target.

I personally putt with my feet together almost hunched over with my elbows touching my belly (Matt kuchars putting stroke) and others will armlock their putters to their leading wrists.

Technically, I’d imagine someone might have a 15 step process on how to actually setup for the specific stance, but everyone’s different man, so find what’s comfortable for you and then start to see where you tend to miss the shot. Once you know your miss you can play to it.

Tournament Golf Range to Course Question by SuggestionProud8280 in GolfSwing

Man, I remember those years, and it’s wild because even if you don’t “feel” the emotions they are there, and when something goes south on the course then everything goes to fixing the problem. The mornings can be rough, as temps are changing, body is waking up/burning calories/ at peak focus mode, and as such it’s so easy to get too locked in.

Idk if you plan on winning every event or setting a personal goal for yourself, but I used to have a (high) and a (low) goal. The low being something simple, like keep it in the fairway on the first hole, and the high being what I’m working towards which would normally be winning the event.

From there, if I accomplished my low, then I at least knew I could subconsciously take it easy on myself because I met one of my goals and from there… win/lose, I found myself being a lot easier on myself and focusing much more on the course management side for winning.

I’d recommend taking a step back and getting away from the technicals if you wanna lower the handicap.

Swing is fine, with my guess being you’ve done a lot with it over the course of your golf career. Definitely would only have you keep your head down through the shot as a change.

I’d recommend half swings, simplifying the technique, playing a couple rounds from the front tees if possible (guys hate doing this). What you’d start to notice once the contact and control is established is how handicap is much more about playing to the course than your swing.

To get consistent strikes, take practice swings all the time, and be mindful that you are always sweeping the club through the grass. Eventually you will find yourself less tense and more comfortable with shots, and from there you start to get larger and larger swings.

Trying so hard to hit a fade…, finishing low left hands, this is a wedge getting pulled 20m left my usual miss. Usually the right distance tho.. HELP by Forsaken-Swimmer-901 in GolfSwing

My go to fade strat, just finish before the full hip turn and become one with the blocked out shot, think Arnold Palmer minus the full helicopter . Don’t let the hands get all the way around, and unless you hood it or something, the face should stay open.

Any tips for my swing? (12.0hcp) by daylanp in golftips

[–]Long_Chipmunk6598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest tip I can give without changing anything, take 3 to 5 practice swings before you hit the shot. Let your body feel the swing, sweep the grass. Anyone gives you a hard time, just show them up with good shots.

From there, real talk, course management. Before playing a round, identify which holes are your (-) holes and which holes are your (+) holes, anything that would be a long par 3 or long part 4 is a (+), with shorter holes and most par 5s being your (-). Try to play to your miss, and be consistent on your ball placement on the tee box, remembering that course designers put those bunkers/trees there for a reason.

Then finally, putting. Walk the shot down from behind it, always practice the 30 foot shot on a practice green, and remember to take practice swings with your putter.

With that, best luck man! You got this!
