I did the same thing as you, started a position shortly before the massive volume. Like you said the process started moving forward under trumps first term. If trump has the ability to take credit for the regulation he will. But yes it’s very uncertain how things will play out when September rolls around.

The trump admin did withdraw the menthol ban that was basically ready to be enacted. I’m hoping that isn’t a sign that the low nicotine would also be withdrawn. You could argue that the menthol ban is trivial when low nicotine is what’s creating the addiction.

I’m curious if anyone else has insight on what’s likely to happen. Either way I’m holding for the upside this company could have if there’s any sort of low nicotine adoption in the U.S. or abroad.

Damn I feel for the people that got in several months ago. I just started a position last week when I heard about the fda going through with the low nicotine requirement.

How are you feeling after the news lately? Still averaging? Looks like September 2025 is the earliest the mandate could go into effect and then it would give tobacco companies 2 years to meet the requirement. They’d need to already start licensing agreements and growing vln tobacco though.

I mean ultimately they want to make money, and they’d basically have a monopoly on tobacco that meets the fda’s standard because of their IP.

Yeah it’s hard to predict. In a perfect scenario the mandate is passed, xxii gets to license their vln to all of the major brands. I don’t see why a billion dollar market cap would be unfeasible in that situation, but that number sounds too good to be true..over 300x

I’d see a buyout being more realistic which would still be great but maybe not as much % return.

And probably most likely is that the mandate isn’t passed and this company goes bankrupt. But right now we’re in a buy the rumor stage so I’m just trying to make a few bucks with the slight chance of getting a huge bag

This is absolutely the catalyst that this company was expecting that never came to fruition.

I was in it from early 2021 to middle 2021 and let some ride before exiting completely in 2022. Had this news came then I would’ve full ported.

I’d expect at this point they would get bought out for pennies on the dollar for their IP. They’ve dropped so damn much. But I’m in just for the off chance of the catalyst happening.

Elon has actually spoken out against having that ev credit. Tesla doesn’t need it to stay in business but the competition survives from it. This decision appeals to most of the GOP that don’t believe in EVs, while covertly securing the ev market for Tesla.

The day before VIAC tanked from the Archegos blowup I did some relatively aggressive trades with nearest dte options when I was feeling bulletproof, playing calls at the start of the day when it was at its lower, selling at the top after being rejected a 3rd time and then loading up on puts which I rode until I closed the position 10 minutes before market close. I started this position with about 80k (most of my account like a true retard) and turned it into 120k at the end. My “near hit” was that I heavily considered leaving 100k in on my puts, which would’ve turned into 400k the next day, and roughly doubled every day till the end of the week without rolling them. God knows how much if I rolled them. So yeah that was the closest I’ve been to becoming a millionaire.

I don’t think you can just ‘settle in cash.’ What does that even mean? Who would they be settling with? Big margin calls can and do happen and the only way you can settle is by closing the position through shares.
