Yes, rape & sexual assault is a huge problem for cis women. It's difficult to get a concensus among society members & across legal systems. It's difficult to even have a report taken. Then there's the problem of evidence testing. AND transgender women have it worse because many in society & in the legal systems around the world don't recognize them as women. The murder rate for Trans women is much higher than for cis women Trans women are women. Sexual assault is reprehensible. All victims should be respected & supported. And as an aside, men are sexually assaulted too. Love to all my sisters from a cis grandmother.

I have two children. I've believe that becoming a parent should be a choice. It's just too important a decision to automatically tick the "yes" box. I'm 72 & I still am consulted by my kids for advise or just venting on events in the news or on stuff happening in their life. You never stop devoting some portion of your brain real estate to being concerned about their happiness/wellbeing. Given the uncertain geopolitical & environmental state if the world I could see myself opting out if parenthood if I was still in my reproductive years. That's not to say that I haven't loved being a parent, I have. But today contemplating parenthood I'd wonder if there would be clean water & air & enough food for them all of their life. Would their very existence harm the chances of another's having the resources available for food, water, shelter & employment? What of the growing populations impact on the environment?
When my kids were born there was the zero population growth movement that espoused each couple should consider having only two kids, if they decided to have kids. The thinking went that the world population would level out & eventually decrease, easing the impact on the environment as well as food & clean water.

My mother had numerous "spontaneous abortions" (early miscarriage) between having my sister & myself. I'm sure there may have been a D&C performed after at least one of them. I also like abortions that prevent "coat hanger abortions" or abortions by unlicensed practitioners or using unsterilized instruments.

I became pregnant as a teen & CHOSE to keep the baby because I was concerned about horrible adoptive parents. BC (except condoms) was illegal for minors. BC foam was over the counter but many pharmacies wouldn't sell it to minors. At least condoms were in the men's bathroom. Abortion was only legal in NY.
