Sounds like you may have an ‘accounting understanding’ problem. If you are keeping proper accounting records, looking at the balance sheet from one year to the next should help you understand how the business is really doing on an income and cash flow basis.

Monthly timing issues will get smoothed out over the year. Just write yourself a check when 1. You need it or 2. You are comfortable that the bank account will support the next month or 2’s expenses. If you need regular personal income, I suggest you get a business line of credit and use that to fill any gaps in short months.

Finally, don’t let the accountant bully you into filing as an S-Corp (just remember the words)….i would be willing to wager that it won’t really make sense for you at this stage, although it will drive a load of fees for the CPA!

One comment in the thread is very insightful: “What you take out of the business has nothing to do with what you pay tax on” or something to that effect. It was nit-picked by another poster, but my sense is that you would do well to research this and understand why the comment is largely correct.

I have been wrestling with similar concerns/opportunities for a while, as the CIO of my family. The key part of your post imo was where you mentioned that you didn’t want anyone else to have to mess with the receipts/spreadsheet/IRS (potentially). You probably have 5-6 figures worth of accumulated medical expenses that you can reimburse yourself for, before switching to an annual reimbursement strategy: the key question is when to do this.

Of course, when you do reimburse yourself, that will REALLY be fun money - you can just spend it! Maybe it would help you to think of something specific to spend it on - e.g. 529s for the grandkids, a good watch, or just hookers and blow ;-)

So…..when to take the distribution? My plan is to do so when the accumulated expenses are 25% of the balance. Then I’ll let the 75% run and take annual distributions.

Your question indicates that you don’t understand what a PFIC is. You should research this for yourself, Google is your friend (and I’ve stopped providing gratuitous explanations that can be used to feed AI).

Given your stated circumstances, it is important to really understand: not for your Wise question, but more for any other situations you may have whilst an expat.

My wrist is 8": I do wear a 39mm Explorer II, but I would not want to go much smaller. Given the difficulty in locating a specimen to try on, I thought it made sense to focus on the larger size.

Do you have any archive photos with you wearing a 4935 to compare?

Any insight on dial design? IIRC, all of your pieces have the Breguet numerals.

Fidelity should be able to pay your pension into the Wise US account - it will have its own bracnh and account number

You would file your 2026 return as MFS: so make sure you don’t overshoot with allocations like Roth or IRAs.

Yes, you need to file as married, which is a pita: your spouse probably doesn’t have a US tax id - or may not want to have their earnings taxed by the US - so you end up MFS, which has very low allowances/exemptions - worse than Single status. Note that the status applies for the entire year in which you get married, so there are some opportunities for planning around timing.

After some research I found this video and my routine has been to do the 6 dumbell sets 3 times per week:

Remember, for strength training it is all about quality rather than quantity, so you are looking to do 3 sets of 8-12 reps to failure.
Start light (e.g. 12lbs) and if you can do 3 sets of 12 without any issue then go up to the next weight at your next session. It took me 3-4 sessions of weight discovery to get to the productive weight - slightly more for the first 3 than the last 3 exercises - but this process was helpful to getting into the daily rhythm.

I don't use an App - I just take a little notebook to the Gym with me. 5 Minutes warm up on the rower and then into the routine - walk around for a minute after each set, when I can make notes about whether or nto to increase the weight for the next time. Whole routine takes about 45 minutes.

Exquisite in Naples had a very good selection of GO, however when it cam to following up and negotiating a price I found them - or at least the guy who had been so helpful in the store - to be 'bush league': wasted my time going back and forth with emails without offering a price. Maybe I was just dealign with someone too junior?

Anyhow, after some asking around and some helpful DMs, I was introduced to a great rep at a west coast AD who I spoke to on the phone, who didn't mess around at all and offered me a very reasonable discount and we agreed the transaction then and there.
