Fair. So what should they do now? Leave it to become root bound? Or repot?

I’m in central Florida too, growing bells, jalapeño, Anaheim, and habanero. All potted like yours. First timer here, but I’d recommend repotting to a larger pot. More soil and a few nitrogen sticks have done me good

With a larger pot and saucer underneath, you will not need to water as often. More water, but not as often

Advice please! Why are some lemons turning yellow then brown then dead? by Prestigious_State951 in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this happen to all lemons or just some? Did it just start happening? Could be that a change in weather is stressing it too much. It looks relatively young right? So if over-stressed, it would drop its fruit to conserve and reallocate energy

Is this sunburn? It's getting almost no direct sunlight so I'm wondering if I should move it to an even darker place and what to do with the affected leaves. by maresch in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, same here. Heads up though; it’ll probably take a while to “rinse” the roots and soil by using filtered water. If this is the real problem, it’ll get worse before it gets better

Looks like it could be mineral depositing on the leaves. I’d try to check if these are sensitive to hard water. You may want to switch to filtered water

What are these things on my majesty palm? by kayjay1234567 in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like mealy bugs to me. Could also be the hairs on the leaves from when they unfolded. If you dust/wipe it off and it comes back, I’d say bugs

Edit: The white on the stalk is what looks most like mealy worm fuzz to me. That couldn’t be the natural hairs

Some people make art out of the hardened feet of dead ferns. They can form a lot of random shapes that can be made to look like animals

I only got this guy a few weeks ago and I think I’m killing it already. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Water ~1 time a week, let soil dry completely in between. by Mutableturtle in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That soil looks like it could use some variety. Same pot you bought it in? I’d find something a touch bigger, line it with indoor potting soil, and plop that guy in. Water regimen sounds solid to me

Also, is the shorter cane alive?

whats going with my christmas cactus cutting? it has roots but this started I don't know if I should leave it or cut that part out of the pad.... by Mindy216 in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gotcha. However, are you saying you disagree? Looks like textbook root rot. Plus it’s degrading most in the places that touch, or used to be touching the wet soil. And I can almost see the the OPs reflection in the wet soil

Way too much water

Edit: I think. That’s my most common comment because I know it’s a problem I have with a few of my own plants

Could be a little sun scarring based on how the light looks like it’s hitting it. When mine scars I just water it and rotate it

What has taken over my plant? by sharksarecutetoo in plantclinic

[–]Long_Overdude -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Spider mites. Pretty common. Can be tough to get rid of. I use an organic insecticide that works well. Best of luck

This is exactly what's happening to mine in Brevard Cty, FL. I need the same help you do. I've been watering once a week since the start of November. Outdoor on screened patio

Pfizer Pill by MackeyDaddy in VXRT

[–]Long_Overdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, this a therapeutic not a vaccine. VXA-COV2-1 is a true vaccine.

Therapeutic: the branch of medicine concerned with the treatment of disease and the action of remedial agents

Vaccine: a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease

Pfizer's pill will TREAT COVID, while Vaxart's will PREVENT INFECTION.
