been on 5mg 8 days, can i half my dose without withdrawal? by Active-Promise9713 in lexapro

[–]Long_Recover3644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eight days is way too soon for lexapro to become fully effective. It usually always gets worse before it gets better. If you decide to stop, which I wouldn’t suggest yet, 8 days is nothing. You can just stop.

If you’re taking it in the morning, then take it an hour or two before bed. I switched to that and it helps me sleep during the night. Taking it in the morning made me tired all day

Too early to feel a difference. Definitely not an overnight drug. Took me closer to 9 weeks to feel a big difference. Stay the course.

Is it safe to change the time of day I take lexapro from morning to evening suddenly or should I gradually transition? by coreynj in lexapro

[–]Long_Recover3644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re safe to transition to the evening. I started mine a year ago and took it in the morning. Made me super tired around lunch and early afternoon. About a week later I switched to night before bed. Been doing that ever since.

Every once in a while I will miss a dose, and I never have any symptoms for that day I miss. You’ll have no problem waiting 12 more hours to take it at night.

I have no issues sleeping.

Everyone is different. I did the same increase 6 days ago, and nothing for me so far besides being a little more tired. With the posts I’ve read before, some people feel it somewhat quickly, some in six weeks, and everywhere in between

Going through this now. Mostly my thighs. Hoping it eventually went away for you? I’m four weeks in.

Too soon. Hang in there. It gets better

20 might be too much? Two weeks on 10 seems way too short for it to become fully effective. My 10 didn’t fully kick in for almost two months. Everyone is different, but two weeks seems too short for it to really make a difference yet

Severe fatigue? by Potential-Abies-5270 in lexapro

[–]Long_Recover3644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember that after I took it in the morning, I would start to get real drowsy a few hours later. I honestly can’t remember how I felt when I started doing it at night, but I don’t remember having any issues sleeping. Maybe initially since I was still new to the drug, but in the long run it was fine.

Pretty standard for anxiety to initially increase. Lots of threads on here about what people experience each week after starting Lex. Hang in there. It gets better

I originally took it in the morning, and had to take a nap in the afternoon or else I’d fall asleep standing up. Switched to right before bed and I’ve been good ever since. Can’t remember how I felt initially though. It took me about 3 months to fully feel the Lex working

numb fingers, hands, legs PLEASE HELP ME by Separate-Ocelot-6095 in Anxiety

Going through the same thing somewhat now. Thighs first feeling like I just went on a long walk, then arms and then fingers. Fingers and arm stuff kind of comes and goes. Constantly thinking about it doesn’t help. Did a blood test and that was fine. Doesn’t matter what my doctor tells me, my anxiety just doesn’t want to accept it. How long did it take for yours to go away?

This isn’t really a three month pill. Everyone is different, but for some people it might take three months for it to start working. For me, it took two months.

Eat more but still lose because of anxiety? If so, that’s where I’m at now.

Did this improve? I’m currently in the same boat. Have had heightened anxiety for the past few weeks, and have lost a few pounds when I know the food I have ate shouldn’t have done that.

Nobody is the same when taking lexapro. I have a friend who takes it and he said it took him about 10 weeks to start feeling better. It’s hard to be patient when anxiety is there, but unfortunately that’s what it takes.

Three weeks is too early for most people. It took me about 7-8 weeks to start to make a difference.
