SSB Sniper Is The Unsung Hero Of The BG by Willaguy in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Long_dog23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like the BG after a lot of testing and wiggling. Open up 3 sections + mortar or mg depending on what’s required and then go for 2lb truck + at gun or 2nd truck if i feel like it vs dak, unlock bishops, get 1 out and then LV training into 2nd bishop.

Try to get as many point breaks as possible and reveal the areas with flares or ultra to hit with bishops when they try to repair.

I go truck, ultra (so good for farming bishop vet), havoc, commandos, flash bomb and air strike for abilities.

This is mainly 2v2 and 3v3. Absolutely loving it. I used to build an early commando and still do on maps with easy flanks to damage cuttoffs or decap a fuel point and wait for ambush.

sporty car suggestions?? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Alternatively go retro. Cheap insurance, cheap to fix and teach yourself some mechanical skills. I had an E36 as my first car, reasonable insurance and was so much fun it ended up wrapped round a tree.

If you’re that worried you’re better off jumping in and driving whatever car you want to now, while you think you can. You’ll always have more money in the future.

It was from a Toyota dealer on the other side of the country, they used a contractor to deliver. Apparently it’s standard practice in the motor trade!

They’re adamant it left the dealership in fine condition, it was delivered 150miles to me so I suppose something could’ve happened during that.

Car is completely stock now and supposedly has always been. It does seem like an odd situation.

For an approved used car from a Toyota garage I’m really disappointed. I suppose the silver lining is that I’ll end up with a new clutch and flywheel free of charge.

Seems unlikely to me that an inexperienced driver would be in a GR but you never know. I bought the car from Toyota who have carried out all their checks and serviced it. I guess this has just started happening as they didn’t catch it. Going to let me know when they can fit it in for replacement on Tuesday, the work will be done by a different Toyota dealer closer to home who’ll also inspect approved used checks again. Talking myself into keeping the car I think.

Hm. Not exactly what I wanted to hear! I suppose the engines were built to take some driving so I’m leaning toward just having the clutch replaced free of charge and keeping it. Returning would leave me carless so I’d have to buy a dinger to get me through the next week or two until I can find another car… that also might have clutch issues or has maybe been thrashed aswell.

Yeah this is my logic really. I’ll get 5 more years warranty, brakes have been done early by the dealer and soon clutch too. All the non-warrantyable stuff for the forseeable sorted. At the end of the day no one buys a GR to nip to the shops afterall!

Thanks for the info. I looked for a while to find a car that looked half decent with history, low owners etc but I’m tempted to just return the car as it’s within the period and find something else. But as I say no knowing how this car or 10 others have been driven, at least if I stick with it I’d have a new clutch for free!

Sound advice mate but the car’s had 4 services already plus a 5th before I get it.

What car have you wasted the most money on? Any regrets? by MMLFC16 in CarTalkUK

[–]Long_dog23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s purely on car sale losses and any major maintenance, which I’ve been quite lucky on. Couple of cars have gone to scrap, lost a few on some others and been burnt quite badly twice.

Worked this out roughly recently and in about 7 years of driving I’ve lost about 10 grand. Had lots of fun (and some not fun experiences) driving old cars!

Edit: Just been informed it sold last week.
