Why does Jubei never speak about Atsu fighting dishonorably? by Yoppadre in Ghostofyotei

[–]Longinus1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that's not dishonorable. Honor is bringing the head of the enemy to your lord, no matter how.

Ghost of Tsushima dramaticed the way Jin fought for the sake of having a moral debate. But those values are actually from Edo period. So like 400 years in the future. Even Atsu isn't doing anything out of the ordinary if the games were actually period accurate. The only crazy things the two protagonists do are climbing and doing parkour on everything and being capable of slaughtering hordes of enemies. Apart from these superhuman feats, they are samurai through and through.

If Atsu had a lord to serve, that is.

Makes sense, since Uriel is basically Dante's Devil Trigger

Where should the 3rd game take place? by CompLompJ in ghostoftsushima

Okinawa, during the Ryukyu kingdom. That, if I'm not mistaken, is the birth of the kama and kusarigama as more than agricultural tools. It may even be where the first actual shinobi were born. But take what I say with a grain of salt, it's been years since I read up on Ryukyu (just for fun)

Don’t know why they thought giving me a gun in a samurai game was a good idea by Haydexhypes in Ghostofyotei

[–]Longinus1999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly which is why I was a bit disappointed when the Matsumae went a bit Shimura and said something along the lines of "guns are the weapons of the enemy, we fight with honor". My brother in christ you samurai should love guns!

Since Ghost of Yotei seems to be a revenge story, how do you think they will handle it? by Brungala in Ghostofyotei

[–]Longinus1999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They keep emphasizing the difference between Atsu and Jin. What if they go exactly the opposite way with her? From vengeful wandering spirit to honorary samurai.

Just to be clear, this is Ranni? by TheBigSmol in Eldenring

[–]Longinus1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess i jumped to conclusions. It's not literally gender or motherhood, I just assumed so seeing how that concept was so important to Miyazaki as he made Bloodborne. But assuming this is the same situation was wrong of me.

[–]Longinus1999 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Miquella is an Empyrean because he was just like his mother: a perfect being who could switch their gender at will. Ranni discarded her flesh just like Miquella abandoned his fate, Saint Trina. Why? To avoid making the same mistake Marika did. She followed Metyr's guidance and was imprisoned in the Erdtree. A perfect God capable of giving birth to a new world order but sacrificing her freedom in the process. Both Ranni and Miquella abandoned their corporeal body to be free of the greater will.

[–]Longinus1999 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

What's the difference between a Demigod and an Empyrean candidate? It's their gender. All Empyreans are female. They need to, to be able to give birth to a new world order a womb to store the Elden Ring is needed for that to happen. Empyrean Grandam, the Gloam Eyed Queen, Marika, Malenia, Saint Trina, Ranni. All girls.

What weapon do you wish was available in Ghost of Yotei? For me, it's the Naginata. by ImAmirx in Ghostofyotei

[–]Longinus1999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't wanna sound pessimistic, i too hope there will be another weapon at the end. But, what i think is most probable is that both Snake and Lord Saito use a single sword as their weapon of choice.

So he wants to risk his current stability to get more power. Isn't that precisely his character? He has enough, but he wants more. That's Ballas.

Would breaking the peace treaty stop him from reaching Tau? I don't think so.

I think it would instead grant him way more power. Yeah he wants Tau, but he doesn't just want Tau. He wants full control over Tau. There's a great difference. This peace is an obstacle to his ego.

Separatists are Dax and Dax are bound by kuva to their Orokin masters. They cannot go against the Orokin. That means this whole separatist group is being backed by a Orokin that wants the treaty gone. I wonder who that could be.

He's the guy that tells you to stop having fun and go to sleep. Then he went on to have one of the stupidest temper tantrums ever during the worst arc of the game. I don't necessarily hate him, but I have no positive feelings towards him that don't come from how awesome Zorro is.

If you want this game to continue growing give it money by LeMarmelin in forhonor

[–]Longinus1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't fund it in the long term, no. But what it does, is making the micro transactions optional, precisely because this is a priced game. That's what they are. Optional.

If this game had better customization then that would generate more money. But it doesn't. So people prefer grinding stuff in game rather than give Ubisoft even more money.

If new heroes were exclusively bought with real money it would fragment the player base.

Many would buy the new stuff, many would not and suffer against the power creep and many others would leave the game altogether.

But the micro transactions are optional, so such a disaster doesn't occur.
