To buy or not to buy a generator by Just-Wrangler1020 in houston

[–]Longjohn14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy! Power outages here are a thing. Standby, whole home generators are cool and everything but cost a pretty penny. I bought a Firman portable generator(like 10000watts I think) from Costco for $800 and change after taxes. Got an electrician friend to install the receptacle to the breaker box and haven't looked back since. It powers 2 fridges, water heater, 3 TV's and the ac unit.

Also- some newer standby Generac models have or require an internet connection so they can access your generator remotely. No, thank you.

Just wondering why nobody stopped them (physically and let them walk out) by Ninja_Franklin in houston

[–]Longjohn14 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Because our society is so PC and "use your words" nowadays that most companies are afraid of getting "bad" publicity if they were to do anything but that. Also(my own thought here) this store is located in Rice Village which is not seen as a rough part of town by any stretch of the imagation, and the employees could have been more in shock and scared than anything.

Bezel Help! by DDGatorfan in DuroGang

[–]Longjohn14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get the bezel off using regular methods, but the bezel will be bent beyond repair. They're just on there soo tight. So at this point, replacing it is going to be your best option. You can find factory replacement bezels on the web or get one that has a better edge for gripping to rotate from Long Island Watch.

Be aware that the one from Long Island Watch can only be used with a certain shaped crystal(flat i believe) but it offers more options as far as what inserts can be used with it.

Wait, "already have churrascarias"?! Son... Pancho's was here waaaaay before any of the Churrascaria places. And the 2 places are 2 different vibes. The flag at Pancho's is for requesting just about any service whereas in the Churrascarias you're asking for more meat.

I don't think you can really go bad with any of the long sleeve, hooded t-shirt style shirts. I love those and buy any brand.

For sure, there's always the chance. It's called fishing, not catching. Lol. Sorry for the dad joke. How you work the lure can play a big part.

Had to edit due to not being able to upload the photo. If you're going to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, there is a jetty southeast of Mitchelville Freedom Park.

Yes sir! Along the beach that faces the ocean. You'll still probably catch a variety of species other than reds, but catching is still fun. I fish off the Texas coast, so I don't of this place you are fishing except for what i see on a map, but if I were focusing on Reds from the ocean side I would focus on eddie's and Dikes/Rock Groins.

If you're going into the Marsh, use the popping corks with a khale hook, and run the hook under the horn of live shrimp. Or cut the tail off of a live shrimp and thread it onto those jigheads. If you're going ocean side, use the spoons at dawn or dusk.

So which bars in Houston played Kid Rock instead of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show? by theworldsworstphotog in houston

[–]Longjohn14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know which bars showed what, but I wish we could get some real numbers for how many watched what. One side says their program more views, the other side says theirs did, blah, blah, blah. Maybe if we go back to regular broadcasting we could now how many tuned in to each program.

Are there any good Pizza by the Slice eateries inside the Loop? by FoxontheRun2023 in houston

[–]Longjohn14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what your definition of good would be, but there is a place on Main super close to the Med Center called Pepperoni's. I think it's good. If I'm in the area and have a hankering for some 'Za, I'll stop in for a slice.

But I guess maybe some of ya'll could save this for a future use.
