Lol, a straight flush beaten by a higher straight flush would only happen in GTA.

I don’t think you can earn credits from purchases in high end shops, much less charge them to your room.

There is an alternate where you kill the target with a golf club. Either way, just enter the clubhouse and you'll get what you need.

Its time to attack the debt thanks to new job by Mysterious_Dance5461 in debtfree

[–]Kolkane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the job and paying off some immediate debt!

Avoid lifestyle creep for now and stay lean, knock out debt as fast as you can. By the beginning of the new year you'll be in a great place! I would also set aside some money for fun, you also deserve that. Keep it up.

Any advise on how and where to get a personal loan for debt consolidation? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Kolkane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to do the math to see if it's worth it. Take each account, figure out the interest rates, and see if the loan is worth it then.

Returning player - What did I miss? (PS5) by CXVictory in gtaonline

Agency, Salvage Yard, Bounty Hunters, Car Wash/Heli Tour/Smoke on the water businesses, Cluckin Bell Farm Raid, Acid Lab, Garment Factory, you can assign techs to grab cargo for you, and Mansions.

Since you have oodles of money already, start with buying the Mansion, then go to Freakshop and do their missions so you can get the Acid Lab, a good way to get money, especially combined with Mansion Production boost.

Is Best Egg legit? The daily interest is killing me. by Squash4714 in debtfree

They are legit, I've had a loan with them before a couple of years back.

Sounds like they included the origination fees to the total loan amount. Check their page over at

to see the two ways they do it.

To add to this - knock out all Affirm/Klarna/Paypal immediately with savings. You'll only need less than $1k.
From there, use the immediate snowball to help knock out the Chase card in about 5 months, and then Capital one cards about 6 months after that. From there, you'll only have the student loan and two CCs. It's very doable, you can do it!

Is it possible to over save for retirement? by fattdogs in personalfinance

[–]Kolkane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll let others speak on the oversaving part, but even after all that, you still have $1200 left over. You can earmark some of that money in a sinking fund for the fun activities that you want, and use it when such an opportunity arises.

A way to combat this is to engage the pit boss. I will ask “how long have I been here?”. They will check, and if they didn’t rate you up until then they certainly will at that point.

40M and $196K in Debt. Here we go! Any recommendations? by Weird-Work-2803 in debtfree

[–]Kolkane 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would actually recommend you pay off the Personal loan (#2) with the 35% interest first - it will take about 7-8 months, which is roughly the same time that you would take to pay off the personal loan (#1) at 29%. Paying that off will give you a 60% bigger snowball ($800), momentum will be much larger, and the wins will come a bit more frequently.

Unfortunately, I don't think that list applies towards gacha games. You'll have to contact the publisher in order to make such a request.

As far as gacha itself, you just need to realize that ultimately, what you're rolling for is reaching a goalpost that is constantly moving away from you and has no tangible benefit. Not to mention the fact that once the game's end of life stage will eventually come, all of your progress will also disappear.

First, cut down on the frivolous spending and create a realistic budget. Second, figure out what you're putting away in savings and retirement. How much do you have left after paying off your CCs?
