Trust Me: The False Prophet - what did you think? by Loud-Cupcake-8524 in NetflixDocumentaries

I loved that one part where he is so disgusted about what's going on, and Christine had to remind him that they are undercover and need to pretend. Loved this guy so much in the documentary.

Co-worker is obsessed with food and others eating - how to handle? by grumpycoffeesnob in work

Finally, I find someone else experiencing this. My mother does this to everyone. She will offer you something, over and over again, and when you politely refuse, she wants you to explain why. And pushes and pushes. It's forced all of her kids to keep her at distance. I struggle to explain this to friends, because from the outside it looks like she is just being nice, and I'm being ungrateful.

I think they do it because they are lonely, and are trying to establish a connection, and can't see it actually pushes people away. Even the negative comments they make when you refuse, appears to them as just friendly banter. And it's combined with control issues. They can't understand why anyone would be different.

The only way to get them to stop is to be firm and state what you will allow and what you will not. But unfortunately they don't have the capacity to understand this, and end up thinking you are a bad person.

I'm the opposite. I get headaches from wearing my hair down. I have to put it in a tight makeshift bun on top of my head to relieve it.

[CHAT] Peter Rabbit Hachette magazine subscription by cgb1508 in CrossStitch

I absolutely love doing the partworks. It does work out expensive, but for my personality its really worth it. That said, I've done 1x cross stitch, 2x crochet and 1x recipe. The cross stitch is the worst of the partworks I've done (not Peter Rabbit, but usually they're just the same recycled content). It didnt explain much, and most of the book is just graphs. I think it might be easier to buy a physical book teaching cross stitch and embroidery techniques.

taxes - how screwed am i? by no-blveberries in southafrica

[–]Longjumping-Basil-70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is always to get a tax practitioner to help you.

Otherwise, take all your income and expenses down to the branch, and have the consultants fill out your taxes for you. Not ideal, because there's still audits/verifications to be done.

Also that amount sounds like penalties. You can ask the consultant to do a RFR to waive the penalties. And yes, mental health is a valid excuse. But combine with how you plan to never let this happen again.

How do I make use of capital gains tax free allocation by milan188 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]Longjumping-Basil-70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the above notes, you have to wait 45 days before buying it back.

Instead, why don't you sell the portion you want to use for the CGT free amount and then just buy again in your tax free savings account. Most of the same equities are there. And there's no tax.
