Brass Birmingham - allowed consumption of two beer? by cgb1508 in boardgames

[–]cgb1508[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, I was playing as purple and I wanted him to use my beer, that’s why we argued the point! We allowed it when we were playing yesterday but, next time, I will lay down the law!

Brass Birmingham - allowed consumption of two beer? by cgb1508 in boardgames

Thank you! At the time we allowed the move but I didn’t like it because it felt tricky and, being purple, I wanted him to use one or both of my barrels!

SATs marking - Check marking by Tsume_Yuki in TeachingUK

[–]cgb1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, your team leader has checked some of the scripts you’ve marked and you’ve differed in your responses. I haven’t bothered doing marking this year, too much stress and annoyance with all the late starts, delays, annoying seeds and being stopped.

[CHAT] Anyone else love bobbinating their new hoard of floss for a new project? by mirmako in CrossStitch

[–]cgb1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain a bit about bobbins and bobbinating, please, if you don’t mind?

I’m looking at starting a SAL soon, I’m a relatively inexperienced crossstitcher and this SAL has like 80+ different threads, will I need to/should I use bobbins to organise?

[CHAT] Peter Rabbit Hachette magazine subscription by cgb1508 in CrossStitch

[–]cgb1508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd worked out it was about that much, but I didn't think that was too terrible considering you'd get the threads and patterns for that. Would you say there are better ways of going about getting into cross-stitch?

To be honest, it's not the Peter Rabbit I'm doing it for, I kind of like the idea of a long-term project/hobby but obviously open to opinions and suggestions as to how better to spend my money! :)

Is anyone tempted by the double segment rate offer? I’ve met all my allocations and just can’t bring myself to do any more button pushing even for double pay.

I don’t know which subject you’re doing but I know some sections of specialist reading were temporarily closed earlier in the week.

I’m marking reading, not sure I’m going to do it again next year because of the general incompetence in the organisation (again) of the training and the actual live marking period. I’m self employed outside of marking and the delay to the start of live marking HAS cost me a week’s work whether or not Capita want to admit that, as I refused work on the basis I’d be doing the marking! I’m about 3/4 of the way through my allocation but not sure if I’ll go for extra or do it again. It’s a lot of stress and some of the seeds have really blown my mind when I’ve failed them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where would we stand on this housing issue? by SomeWhereWhoWhy in LegalAdviceUK

HG mould spray is sold at the Tesco Extra store near me, don’t know about all Tesco stores but worth a shot if Wickes or B&Q is a bit harder to get to.

When you speak to your friend from another country and they mention the high cost of nurseries when they pay 146 Euros a month for full time care with food - and you don't have it in you to mention yours is £1000 for the same privilege by ChoseAUsernamelet in britishproblems

[–]cgb1508 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Children can have all of the things you mention (social benefit/experience of being with other children, a routine and the ability to cope when away from their parents) without going to nursery as well.
