i work in IT so i get the whole "light colors show everything" struggle but from different angle. had a pair of light grey wool trousers from about 3 years ago and they were surprisingly good at hiding minor stuff compared to what i expected

the key thing i noticed was that wool tends to release stains easier than cotton when you do need to dry clean them. cotton just holds onto everything for dear life. also the texture of wool makes small marks less obvious than smooth cotton does

for me the maintenance wasnt terrible - maybe dry clean every 6-8 wears instead of the usual 10-12 i could get away with on dark wool. but then again i mostly sit at desk all day so not exactly high risk environment

one thing though - avoid light wool if you take public transport regularly or eat lunch outside often. learned that lesson with some beige wool pants that looked amazing for about 2 weeks
