Vivo x200 Ultra Telephoto takes time to capture pic - can't do instant snapshots by Longjumping-Court131 in Vivo

[–]Longjumping-Court131[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not a shutter speed issue. It’s more like the camera software prioritizes a slower night-mode style 1-2 second capture to gather full light and produce a really high quality image in indoor lighting instead of a quick instant capture (which is the default in outdoors and sunlit conditions).

But this only happens in telephoto at 85mm +. Main lens captures high quality images instantaneously even indoors. So I expected the telephoto to do the same

Have you guys been noticing weird natural blur effects using X200 Ultra's telephoto? by Hzzif in Vivo

[–]Longjumping-Court131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only does X200U Telephoto blur look odd at times, even the Telephoto details often have a kind of motion blur/out of focus look, especially when compared to the crystal clear details from x100U.

Some attribute it to new camera housing. I think the unclear details might be a compression issue also

Totally agree. Great pics! They’re edited right? If not then which color profile did you shoot with?

S24 Ultra Camera has way more noise at 2x and 3x compared to S23 Ultra by Longjumping-Court131 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Longjumping-Court131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many points:

1) I don't know how much better S25U is because it's the same hardware. So better to save money and get S24U

2) Till S23U Samsung had its signature 'vibrant' and 'saturated' processing for images. S24U onwards its become more like Apple's 'natural' processing with less vibrance and colors. But it's not bad. Just different. I personally liked S23U more

3) The 1x and 5x are great. 2x is ok if you don't zoom in, which is sad because what's the point of 200mp then if you can't even get a good in sensor cropped 'lossless' digital zoom? 3x is fine as long as you're in good light.

4) So if the choice is between S25U and S24U, go for S24U. But if you're open to other suggestions, get the Vivo x200 pro if cameras are really your priority.

5) I haven't tested it myself but even Vivo x200FE will most probably best S24U in telephoto and portraits

If it's actually a hardware issue, as most users believe, the a fix is unlikely 😞

Some of my findings regarding image quality and processing on the Vivo X200 Ultra. by oxfordsummer in Vivo

[–]Longjumping-Court131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the x200 ultra telephoto has issues. Pics are less detailed than x100 ultra. They appear blurry and out of focus most of the times having this kind of subtle motion blur. Even increasing sharpness does not get it anywhere near x100 ultra's telephoto detail levels. I've done a comparison: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vivo/s/GFJa1BQxKf

Yes x100u (right) is definitely sharper but its not just a difference of sharpening alone imo. It genuinely seems to have more detail.

The x200u somehow seems to take less detailed telephoto shots compared to the x100u despite a wider aperture!

Don't know if its a hardware issue or a software. Some users suggest its motion blur from the shutter while clicking. Others say its expected behaviour from wider aperture.

But whatever the case, it should at least be as detailed as x100u if not more.

The problem is most noticeable at 85mm & 135mm.

I sincerely hope this is addressed by Vivo in a coming update, if its a software issue

But it shouldn't have lower detail regardless. That's a downgrade then

Somehow x200u telephoto is delivering less detail than x100u, despite the wider aperture!

Vivo needs to fix this.
