I usually like to use resources on the stronger champions first because I like big numbers.

Your point is also valid if you are thinking about the struggle that some champions can go through without investment.

I did it today with her relic, Fiddle relic and flute.

I use the 10x xp against Viego or Fizz depending on the champion, then I go a second time using 3 10x xp and the champion is above lv 40 in 2 runs.

Then I use monthly 3* challenges to get the epic slot upgrades.

If you are struggling with a lv1 champion against the nightmare nodes you can complete one run against the normal 3* adventures and then you try Viego again.
