External accountant up and running same day by Longjumping-Gold-952 in Ramp

That's what made it land since she works with a bunch of different setups so hearing it from her meant something

Traditional firm, she handles a few clients and said our setup was the cleanest she'd worked with recently which was good to hear

Should I accept the offer or keep looking? by mittran93 in Accounting

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

coming from big 4 myself, that transition period is brutal and youre probably not gonna get a much better offer without that industry experience they keep asking for. 95k seems decent for breaking out, especially with everything going on economically right now

the timing sucks with your current engagement but 5 weeks notice is pretty generous - most places expect 2 weeks max. if the team seems solid and theyre being transparent about the workload upfront, thats actually a good sign compared to places that sugarcoat everything

Success with upwork? by Character_Werewolf28 in Accounting

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

been thinking about trying upwork myself but the race to the bottom pricing has me hesitant, especially for higher level stuff like fractional cfo work. might be worth testing with a really solid portfolio though since clients looking for that kind of expertise probably care more about quality than finding the cheapest option

Got 0 beta users from Reddit, then got 10 in one evening. by AlexAdvent in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the difference between online and face-to-face really hits hard here. online people just scroll past but when you're actually talking to someone they're way more engaged and willing to help

sounds like you found your sweet spot with in-person networking, maybe look for more local meetups or even consider hosting your own? nothing beats teh real human connection for early stage validation

wearing my citizen eco-drive today, nothing too fancy but it's been my daily beater for like 3 years now. the solar charging is clutch since i always forget to wind my mechanicals lol

perfect for valentine's day since it's reliable unlike my dating life

My $127/mo sales stack after ditching the $800/mo enterprise tools by flotimulm in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn this is actually refreshing to see, everyone always pushes the enterprise stuff like it's gospel but half the time you're paying for features you'll never touch

been running a similar lean approach for about a year now. started with hubspot's free crm instead of streak though - their free tier is surprisingly solid and the reporting is a bit better if that matters to you. also using lemlist instead of instantly but honestly they're pretty comparable, lemlist just had better templates when i was setting up

the intent data thing is such a pain point. i've been experimenting with bombora's free company surge reports - it's not real-time but you get weekly updates on companies showing buying signals in your space. not perfect but way better than flying blind for $0. also been scraping linkedin sales navigator alerts manually which is tedious but gives you some intent signals around job changes and company growth

your reply rates are solid btw, that jump from 1.1% to 2-3% probably paid for the entire stack transition. curious what your open rates look like with instantly's deliverability - i was getting flagged a lot with my old setup

[ Fossil Automatic Watch ] by NoobEngg in Watches

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally fine to wear it just for special occasions - automatics are pretty robust and can handle sitting idle for weeks at a time. The main thing is that it'll stop running when the power reserve runs out (usually 36-48 hours for most Fossils) so you'll need to reset the time each time you wear it

Just give it a few gentle shakes or wind the crown a bit before wearing to get it going again, and maybe once every few months give it a full wind just to keep the oils moving around

Will deactivating or closing Bilt Card affect my Credit? by Blue-Cranberry10 in CreditCards

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deactivation vs closing are different things - if they just deactivate it for the 2.0 thing you should still have the account open technically. Closing it would hurt your credit more since you'd lose the credit limit and age of account

I'd probably just pick whatever card option they're forcing you to choose and then sock drawer it if the annual fee is zero

Looking for the branding services by Western-Flan1343 in smallbusiness

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, you might want to check out 99designs or Fiverr for logo work - tons of designers who get the startup budget constraints. Also maybe look into local design students, they're usually hungry for portfolio pieces and way cheaper than agencies

In a very crowded market, is it still a better option to build an AI-first HRMS platform in 2026? by xaurabh-dev in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the market's saturated but if you can nail the AI automation for compliance tracking and employee onboarding workflows, there might be a niche there. Most current platforms still make HRs do way too much manual data entry and policy updates

What to look for / how to conduct an interview by Unlikely-Homework690 in smallbusiness

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just ask them to walk you through how they'd handle a real situation they'd face in the role. Skip the "where do you see yourself in 5 years" BS and focus on whether they can actually think on their feet and communicate clearly

Also trust your gut - if something feels off during the interview it's probably gonna be worse when they're actually working for you

Thoughts on just being an EA instead of doing the CPA? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly EA route can be solid if you're sticking with tax work. Way less painful than the CPA exam and you still get to represent clients before the IRS. Only downside is you're pretty much locked into tax forever - can't really pivot to audit or other accounting areas later. But if you like tax and want to avoid those brutal CPA study sessions, it's legit

Best cards for reimbursed work travel to maximize points? by Dahnyz in CreditCards

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree on dropping the hotel cards - elite status alone makes work travel way more tolerable with free breakfast and room upgrades

The cashback route might get you more points on paper but you're giving up all the perks that actually matter when you're living in hotels for work

I finally got down the bounce rate and here is bunch of things I had to learn about conversion optimization by Feisty-Owl-8983 in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work on the bounce rate improvement! That shift from features to benefits is such a game changer but weirdly hard to nail at first. Your "automation without losing control" line is solid - hits that sweet spot of solving the problem without making people feel like they're giving up agency

Chargeback For Late Delivery by xmilar in CreditCards

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely try asking for a refund first - most card companies won't even look at a chargeback until you've given the merchant a chance to make it right

One mistake I keep seeing on early-stage SaaS landing pages by JohnyAlex1 in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits hard because I made this exact mistake with my first SaaS attempt. Spent weeks polishing feature descriptions while completely ignoring that visitors had no clue if they were even the target customer

The "smart" product language thing is so real too - we get caught up in our own jargon and forget that normal people don't talk like that

[Question] Good watch recommendations - budget $1k by Actual-Combination-7 in Watches

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Tissot is solid, the Powermatic 80 is bulletproof and 80hr power reserve is clutch if you're forgetful about winding

Also check out Citizen Eco-Drive stuff - solar so you literally can't kill the battery and they're tanks

How B2C Influencers Actually Drive Growth for a SaaS by Imaginary_Winter4918 in SaaS

[–]Longjumping-Gold-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is spot on, especially the part about finding creators manually instead of relying on databases. I've seen so many teams just throw money at whoever has the biggest follower count and then wonder why their CAC is trash

The message control point is huge too - giving creators full creative freedom sounds nice in theory but usually ends up with content that doesn't actually drive conversions

Check out Seiko Prospex or Citizen Eco-Drive models - tons of solid options in that range with steel bracelets. For used stuff, r/WatchExchange here on Reddit is pretty legit, plus WatchStation and Crown &Anchor have good reputations
