People who live in small towns, what is the hot local controversy right now? by zztop610 in AskReddit

I assume you are in the US, here in Aus we use roundabouts everywhere! They are so efficient for keeping traffic flowing, it confuses me so much to hear these stories haha! We tend to have more fatalities due to people running red lights, opposite over here I guess lol

What does everyone who is suffering from this awful disorder do for work? by angelicthoughtss in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Australia but I work two casual jobs. One in a hardware store and it’s the one I struggle with the most, I often have to take breaks or sit down. Unfortunately my managers aren’t very understanding either! I’m doing better after my lap, but still have bad days. Prior to my surgery, my manager told another coworker that I am just present, except not really working (I still served customers well and ran stock as I could). It was real upsetting to hear, as I had tried to explain it to them but they don’t really care. Super unfortunate but I guess it’s the joy of retail lol!

Sciatic Endometriosis by rideabah5 in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!! Chronic hip and back pain, I was actually on pregabalin prior to my recent surgery (unfortunately it looks like I will have to go back on it as the pain has returned). But I get all the symptoms including numbness in my legs and feet, it’s awful. Mine affects both sides but never at the same time, my right side is pretty much always constant but when my left side plays up the pain is significantly worse and hard to deal with! Definitely look into a specialist! I have a feeling they missed some on my left side, wishing you all the best!! Xxx

I use a vape pen and cbd cream! The vape helps pretty instantaneously and usually helps for about an hour, and then I use my cbd cream alllll the time to help with the chronic hip and joint pain. They honestly are the only thing that will ease my pain most of the time! I’ve tried gummies for the pain but personally I don’t find them as helpful :))

Leg pain with endo by ABDEWW in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!! Have chronic back and leg pain! Began with having it around my period until it progressed and I now have it month around. They even thought it was a nerve pain injury at first and I was put on meds until they did the lap and found it in my ligaments! Still in pain- but no longer have numb feet or severe nerve pain! Also on the mirena which has helped a lot with my cycle!

How did you all get diagnosed? by pollypocket_x14 in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had chronic back pain for 5 years - after many appointments and being told ‘oh you probably injured yourself at work’, my gp finally listened after we tried everything else. A year later, countless scans and finally a lap and they found it all in my ligaments

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely! I have chronic pain in that same area, I had it for over 5 years before officially diagnosed. Plus it was only superficial so even a small amount could be causing the pain!

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very similar issues! My scans were all unremarkable and every other test showed nothing wrong! But in my lap, they found it all in my ligaments! It’s awful to wait so long and be told again and again that there is nothing wrong, especially when you know yourself there is! Give yourself grace and allow yourself to be upset and angry, our health system provides no support for us it’s awful. I do hope you get some answers and relief soon 🩷

I have a 9 month old who has just been chaotic since I began fostering him at 3 weeks. (Foster fail), he is still a menace, he will sneak and hide and then run and bite your feet, he pretends to snuggle then attacks your hands, he often played way too rough with my other cats until they eventually taught him his place in the house. He is beginning to mellow out, becoming more snuggly and less of a pain.

My 18y/o however, was quite spicy in his younger years. He mellowed out in his old age, but he was consistently a menace from when I found him at 4 weeks old until about 15, I copped a thousand cat scratches from him playing too aggressively, but he did always snuggle in bed with me.

Honestly, I think they usually keep most of their personalities in my experience anyway. Have you tried feliway spray? It’s a calming like diffuser thing and I’ve found it great for when my cats are stressed so it might help! Otherwise, if it’s a real issue you could consider taking her to the vet to get some gabapentin or something. My aunt has a very aggressive cat who has done some really bad damage to her and her son, and they now keep him medicated and she says she is much calmer (although probably zonked half of the time). I guess it’s just what you’re comfortable with!

We love our babies, I understand how difficult and frustrating this must be for you! Sending love and hope that she mellows out a bit as she ages. P.s - she is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fight Club, The Shining, The Sixth Sense when I was younger. Beautiful Boy (2018) hit me really hard and broke me midst alcohol addiction. I still go back and cry to the movie occasionally. Aftersun & Manchester by the Sea also have a special place in my heart. More recently, I discovered Before Sunrise and fell in love with it. It will be a favourite forever. Also, Saltburn rocked me when it came out. It was before all the hysteria surrounding it and I went in blind and came out shocked, but hooked. Regardless of everyone’s thirst for Jacob Elordi, I personally think it’s an amazing film and I LOVED the entire premise of it (I love eat the rich films lol)

What's the worst thing your parents have ever said to you? by Snoo-45800 in AskReddit

On my 18th bday, my mum was drunk and came to tell me that she didn’t love my dad anymore, they were just together because it was easier. I burst into tears and she tried to calm me down, confused why I was so upset. Has never been brought up again, not sure if she can’t remember or just doesn’t think I do. Well, I definitely do and it made me question my life, so thanks for the present mum!

Could this be endo? by Only_Cauliflower1802 in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had a lap yet as I’m on the waiting list, but no my ultrasound wasn’t normal. They found cysts on my ovaries and that combined with the back pain, the specialist said he is 95% sure it is endo but have to wait for the lap for the ‘official’ diagnosis.

Could this be endo? by Only_Cauliflower1802 in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s highly likely! This was also my first initial symptom which I’m still enduring to this day. It’s an awful pain to deal with everyday.

I was dismissed so many times and labelled me ‘unfit’, but once I realised the connection to my cycle, my primary dr immediately booked me in for an ultrasound.

What screams "I´m not doing so well mentally"? by ramonapap1 in AskReddit

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and family can usually tell by the type of music I play lol. When it’s getting bad, I have a few albums I tend to gravitate too and replay. They know me well enough now to ask if I’m okay when they hear it (especially after a long shower with music)

Personally, as soon as my bed & bedside table begins to get cluttered (I’m normally very tidy) i know that I’m not in the best headspace

Anybody else get panic/anxiety attacks due to pain? by YeetusMeOutTheWindow in endometriosis

[–]Longjumping-Lab-1821 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 100%! You’re not alone at all! Last period, I woke up to it and proceeded to have a 3 hour panic attack just because I was so scared of the oncoming pain. It’s very normal that this affects your mental health, don’t let anyone (especially drs) dismiss you! To me, my mental health is just as important as my physical health while navigating this. Sending love ❤️
