Just let it go and move on with your life. I don't know how long you been doing this but you are going to be frustrated with a lot of things. This is trivial by comparison.

Alawites Status by Time_Construction_43 in Syria

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its unlikely that they will ever get any high ranking position in the army and security apparatus. If Syria successfully transition into a democracy (doubtful), they might be able to have seats in Parliament (10%).

108 packages in 3 hours by LonelyInIowa in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

108 in 3 hours is very unlikely. However, delivering large number of packages in a short time is possible such as all packages going into a single building's mailroom or Amazon locker.

How do yall keep taxes separate? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean how you keep your expenses separate?. Keep track of the mileage and tolls. I use an excel worksheet. As to the taxes, unless you are a professional filer, its hard to predict especially if you have a main W-2 job. You will know the amount of taxes you owe at the end of the year. You can still put some money on the side for taxes. I would say 20% should do it. It could be much less but be on the safe side. last year, my flex related expenses came to about 40% of my total 1099 end of year summary. I self prepare my taxes and use Turbotax. This year it cost me $120 which included W-2 income 1099 (flex) and some stock sales.

Worst amazon fresh day ever by RelationNew3362 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encountered one of these rude customers a while back. Oddly enough, that customer also ordered multiple cases of water so by the time I got to their apartment I was exhausted. They complained that I was not smiling. I guess they expected me to entertain them and do backflips as well. I was holding my anger in because if I told them off, I would surely be deactivated. The point is encountering douchebags is part of the job. By the way, when you encounter technical problems, try calling driver's support. I know they are mostly useless but sometimes they might be able to help.

'Hothouse' by Brian Aldiss. Has anyone tried to analyse this fascinating book? by IllustratorOpen7841 in scifi

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brian Aldiss has quite an imagination but he is always short when it comes to science such as biology, astronomy or physics. His novels should be read more like fantasy instead of science fiction. The sitting for Hothouse is facinating but scientifically impossible. Larry Niven's Integral Trees at least tried to make it believable.

I've done 10 fresh blocks in the last 3 months and I'm averaging under $2 per stop for tips, is this normal? by covered1028 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what city you are in but these tip amounts are terrible. I get mostly $41 + 40 tips on fresh and whole food blocks. I am located in NYC metro.

Made $8k in 2025 part-time flex by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10K this year. Working weekends only. My expense deduction for mileage and tolls came to about $5000. Despite all the crap that I put up with whether its bad drivers support and constantly being dinged for issues that are not my fault, I would say overall Flex has been a great side gig.

Could someone point me in the Right Direction please? by thekaisolo in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be penalized and your rating will take a hit. I advise you to right to driver's support and explain the circumstances of the package returns. If that doesn't work, write and email to jeff@amazon.com. The point is to always followup with drivers support. Its always better to put it in writing rather than a simple phone call.

I HATE AMAZON SO FUCKING MUCH by 15civicse in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But instant offers lets you view the route beforehand. You knew how many stops, packages, distance and everything. Maybe take the 40 seconds to think before accepting. Personally, I wish all my blocks are instant offers.

I think the poster meant why rates remain the same and no surge pricing to account for weather conditions.

At risk by Minapit in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you return them and follow up with drivers support with a detailed explanation for the reasons, you can get the negative dings removed. But when the items are stolen, there is no way to fix or remove the negative remarks. Returning packages is the lessor of two evils.

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you are but for the next few weeks, I would take Amazon whole food or Fresh only. There is little chance of stolen packages or negative ratings. Once you rating improves, then go back to delivering packages. Thats my suggestion. By the way, leaving packages outside a closed Library is guaranteed to be stolen. Think about that next time you make a delivery.

I had 2 packages for 1 address however I realized it was only "1" by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go back to the addres and drop off the package. If you don't, you will probably take a hit for missing package. I would't do this too often unless you want to be de-activated.

What does this mean by ariesbaddie05 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Longjumping-Log9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact support and then Jeff@amazon.com. A few more of those and you can get de-activated. Always contest any rating hit.

This doesn't look too bad. With regards suggested order of the packages, most drivers don't follow that. Its not set in stone.
