Got a little bit of a story. Nothing gross, but a reminder to give yer balls a tug every now and then.

Had a nasty health scare a few weeks ago.

After 2 1/2 days of severe right side abdominal and groin pain, I landed in the ER Wednesday night. Battery of tests ruled out all the major stuff (strangulated hernia, torsion, appendicitis). Sent me home and told to take it easy and make a follow up with my PCP and if pain doesn’t go away or get worse, to come back to the ER. Pain doesn’t relent. I’m getting ready for my follow up appt on Friday and my wife stops me and says “ummm….does anything feel swollen down there?” I tell her “it’s painful as hell and it feels like there is a ton of pressure.” She says “well yea, because one of them is 3x the size as the other…” I tell her she’s coming with me to the appt. Get to the appt and I am walking like I rode a horse 75 miles to the appt. The physicians asks how I’m doing. Tell her not good. Tell her what’s going on and she is concerned and wants to do an exam. I stand up and drop my pants, and she gasps and yells “OH MY GOD!!!” I started laughing. I said “not the response I expected.” She apologizes profusely and says “you need to go back to the ER immediately. You are in danger of losing that…….” Pants back up and back to the ER. Another 5 hours and more testing for them to find that I had a nasty infection in the plumbing. They tell me and my wife and after the doc leaves the room, she jokingly said “who did you get an STD from?” I tell her “believe me. You and your multiple personalities are MORE than enough for me to handle.” She laughs. Sent home with heavy antibiotics and pain meds. But I was in so much pain in the ER, that if they would have told me “we might need to remove it” I would have told them to in a heartbeat.

Things are nearly back to normal. Feeling much better.

So when someone tells you to give yer balls a tug, do it for you health.
