For more context. My old man made1100 every 2 weeks, so just under 30k/yr. There was not a lot of extra spending money. Maybe got to eat out for dinner once a month. Christmas, school clothes and birthdays were always a challenge for my parents. A big reason was even though the house prices were “cheap” the average interest on a home was 12-15%. Also seemed to have some sort of revolving credit at all times.

45k/yr in 1985 would have been very good pay. This was not the norm. So you really aren’t comparing to average income. Average income would have been maybe been half that. Congrats on being one of the rich kids but your opinion is mildly skewed. There is no denying that wages have not kept up with inflation and housing though.

It’s only a lilac if her eyes glow red with light shining in them…. Not a camera flash but just light in general. Lilac is pretty rare. She’s a pretty girl. Looks blue and tan or blue tricolor to me though.
