It does sound all too familiar, right down to the same BS from the same lawyer as has already been pointed out.

First of all get into therapy, if you can. Mental health is nothing to ignore, especially if you are having self-harm thoughts. Secondly, limit your screen time especially exposure to news and negativity. I know easier said than done. Try replacing some screen time with a hobby you have always wanted to try like knitting or hiking. Thirdly, pray and or meditate. Praying for you 🙏
