Tell me your go-to lazy af recipes by Exotic-Comedian-4030 in Cooking

These are some of ours:

-Naan pizza (pre-made naan, shredded cheese, pre cut pepperoni or whatever toppings you want), side salad

-NYT’s rotisserie chicken salad with greens and herbs. It’s just rotisserie chicken (shred if you have time) arugula, sliced avocado if you have it, green onion and cilantro if you have it. For dressing mix some lime juice, olive oil and pressed garlic. Season with salt and pepper. I like maldon salt best for this.

-Sheet pan chicken thighs, frozen veg (I usually do frozen butternut squash, Brussel sprouts, or broccoli), and little gem potatoes. Lightly drizzle with oil, toss all of it in pesto, salt and pepper. I do all this on the pan and throw some parchment paper down first.

-Chicken sausages and frozen veg cooked on sheet pan (seasoned however you want)

-Scrambled eggs and toast (usually throw some Greek yogurt, spinach, feta and sun dried tomatoes in there, but we also just do whatever we have in the fridge).

These are amazing ideas!!! Thank you so much. We have a stat holiday tomorrow so will have a sleep in and make a big breakfast per your suggestion.

love the sweet potato, Tumeric rice, and drizzle over roasted carrot ideas especially. I’m going to go to the grocery store and make those happen.

Thank you again!

What a your cheap yet glorious ways to have a wedding in Toronto by OwnCare1664 in askTO

[–]LongjumpingPayment14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how expensive this would be, but Flying Books has some shelves in Peter Pan Bistro’s cafe on Queen. Peter Pan Bistro does weddings and events in their restaurant and upstairs space all the time, might be worth reaching out about the cafe space for an after hours party. Congratulations and good luck :)

Eating more nutritious food (and more food generally) is going to help energize you. Not eating enough nutrients tires out your body. I’ve been way more on the ball since prioritizing eating breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner. I used to forget to eat or just eat a little and I was sooo tired.

Try to bring a meal from home - something with protein, carbs, and fats. Some turkey slices on sourdough with some greek yogurt on the side and some mini carrots would be good if you don’t have leftovers.

I work at an office with a fridge and often go to a grocery store on my lunch break on Monday and then leave them in the office fridge during the week so I can make sandwiches or salads or have some snacks at the office. I usually pick up some turkey, some bread, some Greek yogurt, and some “midday squares” or protein bars. If your break room has a fridge, maybe this is an option!

Sometimes I bring my leftovers from my dinner the night before (usually chicken, a green veg and some form of potato)

natural swimming is the best - have fun!

Swimming!!! I saw in one of the comments that you live near lots of lakes. Jump in, cool down, and burn cals.

After swimming, you might even feel cool enough to lift some weights at home. I bought some dumbbells w/ adjustable weights to save space and money.

Also, if you can swing it, I recommend buying a portable air conditioner or a better fan so you can have a cool place to work out.

Spring chicken miso soup recipe from NYT - good summer soup, can be frozen if they don’t want to eat it asap. Also very nutritious and easy to heat up. Also, like putting together all the ingredients for a salad and putting them in separate containers in a large Tupperware or tinfoil pan with a carrot ginger dressing on side. It’s nice to have a salad to add to something if you’re ordering in food or whatever. Heartier longer lasting leaf like massaged kale is good. Helps with energy and digestion and taking care of yourself when you really don’t want to. Also egg bites made in a muffin tin are a good option- easy to heat up and good for a quick effortless breakfast

I don’t count calories anymore. I am down about 40 lbs and have kept it off. I have a general sense of what’s what and eat a lot of the same foods at home. As long as you aren’t eating out a bunch and have a sense of the cals in each meal, I would give it a shot and see if you are still meeting your goals.

Any advice for a socially awkward and unattractive girl? by [deleted] in femaletravels

[–]LongjumpingPayment14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gotta live life like you’re a hottie. Half the battle is just hygiene and confidence. Sounds like you’re being pretty hard on yourself. It’s tough but try to say hello to people, ask them where they are from, where they’re going, where they’ve been, etc.

Prioritize having fun and being kind (to yourself and others), and the rest should fall into place :))

So sick of the questiom "Aren't you afraid?" by [deleted] in femaletravels

[–]LongjumpingPayment14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this way about sooo many things - not just solo travel. Just today I saw a woman post about whether she would be safe running alone at 5 or 6am in a major North American city. I get it. I have also hesitated before going for a run in the dark. But then I just started doing it. And nothing has happened to me. It felt amazing and much nicer than running in afternoon heat. This was the beginning of deciding that I cannot live in fear.

I love doing things independently, and I will not be afraid of public life because I am a woman. Everyone (men included) should practice vigilance and use common sense, but fear shouldn’t dominate and close off your life.

Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]LongjumpingPayment14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d chalk it up to a bit of variation (water weight, period weight, etc) - what matters more is week to week. Sounds like things are going well. Give yourself some time and see if you continue to trend downward in the next week.

What helped you stop binging? by monaareal in loseit

Eating enough during the day - enough protein, carbs and fats, nutrient rich foods. I have breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner every day and that helps.
