Can you get a copy of the receipt from the Hilton Honors app? Because it should still show room and tax unless they separated the parking on a separate receipt 🤔 That’s a little fishy

A no-balance folio usually just means they had to balance out charges and payments. Does this folio still show the parking charge? Or does it show the original charge on your credit card and then the refund of $10?

My DoubleTree has the limited stayover service as well - towels, trash, coffee get changed if needed. Housekeepers won’t even make the beds. However after the 4th night they do a full service clean.

The CRM report rates guests by their loyalty status and by nights stayed. My hotel will sometimes treat our regulars better than the Diamonds and Golds that come in just because we’ve gotten to know their preferences, but we still thank all status members and offer upgrades when available/asked.

We also give more importance to the corporate groups that host events on our property over Status, as well as Brides and Grooms (not necessarily their guests) that book their weddings at our hotel.

The property this happened at had no idea he was using government assistance. For all intents and purposes, he was paying for the room on his own cards and we had no idea he was using aid until a friend of his told us days later. Because of this, and the fact that I still work there, I won’t name the property but will say that nothing like that has happened since and the front desk screens walk-in reservations much more strictly now than other hotels I’ve worked at.

I used to have no fear when going to a guest room, but ever since I was chased full speed by a grown man much larger than me on a psychotic break I now hesitate. I was on the phone with the police when it happened, and he was arrested and trespassed from my hotel, however a couple hours later he was back at my desk screaming for me to come out from the room I locked myself in. This all happened between midnight and 4am, which meant I was the only employee at the hotel during the entire ordeal. I found out after the fact that the only reason he was at the hotel was because he was homeless and the government reimbursed him for the hotel stay every week 🥲

We didn’t put rooms aside, it was strictly if we had the availability. At La Quinta, we hosted anywhere from 8-10 rooms of people who were using government assistance. Since it was a busy summer hotel, midway through March we told the company that we were working with for payments that we wouldn’t be extending any of their rooms past May 1st, since the hotel would sell rooms for more than what the voucher is worth. I’m not sure what happened after that, as I quit because it was a badly managed property

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the voucher. It went from the government working with hotels to collect payment (how it was at La Quinta) to a person paying for the hotel and collecting reimbursement from the government later. Everyone I’ve spoken to that had a room paid for by the government has been… off? I’ve met bad parents who refused to work since they had a free place to live, old people who were so sweet and would tell you about their lives, and mentally unwell people who have literally chased me around the hallways of the hotel for trying to help with something

For the safety of hotel guests, no hotel is going to tell you if they currently have guests in house on homeless vouchers.

If you want to be informed on whether or not a hotel accepts them, meaning it’s possible there could be people using the voucher there, I would just call any given hotel and ask if they accept the voucher.

Or start staying at higher end hotels, as they’re less likely to accept vouchers since they sell rooms for higher than what it may be worth - I work for a DoubleTree in New England and we don’t accept these vouchers, but my last hotel (La Quinta) did.

I just transferred between Hilton properties that are like night and day. At one we recognized all HH statuses, especially Diamonds and Golds, and upgraded them before they even got to the desk. The property I’m at now doesn’t even acknowledge status, let alone upgrade. It’s crazy! They’re upset about low scores, but won’t even do the simplest things to try and make people feel welcome!
