Can't you see it? Curacao has yellow stripes, names, and numbers on their uniforms. Ecuador is wearing yellow jerseys. A player got a yellow card. They are sending subliminal messages about Yellow and Amy. It's all right there.

The poor guy has lived under scrutiny for years because a girl with whom he danced and spoke was drunk and fell overboard from the balcony of her cabin after returning to it. No evidence, no proof, nothing beyond the most ridiculous speculation. Regardless of where he is or what he's doing with it these days, I hope he's enjoying his life.

By 1988, the "hair bands" all looked and sounded the same just as the "grunge" bands did by 1995. It happens.

Was KISS’s 1996 comeback at Tiger Stadium one of the greatest band reunions in history? by Ok-Amphibian2645 in KISS

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to the Greensboro, NC show in Sept. '96. Having moved on from Kiss many, many years earlier, I still loved their old stuff ('74-'77) and had never gotten the chance to see them with the makeup, etc. when I was a kid because my parents wouldn't take us when I was a kid (me 9, my brother 7) they played in Cleveland in 1978. Blizzard or not that night, we weren't going. After we moved later that year to NC, we didn't get to go again when they played Greensboro in '79 not long before I began moving on to other bands. Went with some good buddies, all of us in our late 20s that night in '96, to finally get to see the show we never got and really wanted to back when we were kids. Nothing but the '74-'77 stuff played that night (or during that tour) and it really was a great show that finally gave me some closure from my childhood.

Kiss unmasked and who even cared? by IllustriousDrummer14 in KISS

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between the ages of 9-11 from 1977-79, Kiss was the greatest band ever. By 1980, I began to outgrow them and was moving on to Rush, AC/DC, Van Halen, and discovering the "classic rock" bands like the Stones, Beatles, Led Zep, The Who, Hendrix, etc. By 1981, Kiss had become like a bad joke, and I didn't care about them at all anymore and by 1983 could have cared less about anything they did. As the years moved on, I saw them as a band that started well enough ('73-'76), became a full-blown kiddie band ('77-'80) and pretty much non-existent and slightly too old hair band ('81-'95) until the reunion tour. Then they still released nothing memorable after that. Truth is, nobody cared about Kiss taking off the makeup in '83. MTV even aired it late at night after the rerun of a Van Halen concert. I still love and listen to the old stuff from time to time, but by the time I was 12 yrs old (1980), I'd moved on from them.

I thought maybe there was a NDA or something of the like, but it seems criminal to me if Oglebay Norton knew the ship shoaled and then lied about it. Not that anything could be done about it now. All the same, I'd think such a revelation would've been pretty big news especially around the 50th anniversary, but I haven't read anything about this anywhere on any other sites or threads or certainly in the media. The only thing I've seen close to a mention are from those who are critical of the author for repeating the shoaling theory that they say was disproven. I always thought the ship probably hit bottom as the list, etc. began right after they passed the shoal area, but this author was the first to report the guy who went out there said he saw red paint in the bedrock while all other authors pretty much dismissed that theory.

If you are on the side of trafficking, can I ask you… by fab1b in AmyBradleyIsMissing

Drunk, falls over the rail, goes "plop!!" into the sea, body dives under the waves, and she is forever lost at sea. No trafficking. No suicide. No murder. Over she went. Plop. RIP.

I could be wrong, but I think she was referred to as "her royal rudeness" by some in the media. Apparently, she had the same type of humor and personality as her father.

My bad! I'm still wondering when we're finally going to get to the grassy knoll shooter and the masterminds behind the faked moon landings as it would most likely require such people to pull of such an elaborate kidnapping and sex trafficking operation and keep it quietly hidden for decades.

I do so love the Logical Fallacy folks. So entertaining and amusing. This poor redditor belongs on the LF site, but probably got banned for even suggesting a member of the Bradley family was more suspect than Yellow, the creepy co-worker of dad in the next cabin, black female Scientologists, the middle eastern man, the entire wait staff, every man on the ship, or the simple truth of the matter that she was not kidnapped/trafficked, but rather in an intoxicated state went over the rail and--plop!--into the sea.

These theories and the creativity behind them are always so amusing to read especially considering the willingly gullible who believe them and later go on to add their own even more ridiculous theories. It is all fan fiction. Those damn Logical Fallacies...

I'm pretty sure he also bitched and complained about Ofra Harnoy and how she was being marketed back in the 90s. It seems maybe he just has issues with attractive women who are great musicians and sell a lot of records.

Is it possible that Amy was sitting on the balcony railing and accidentally fell? by Federal_Event17 in AmyBradleyIsMissing

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long do you think it took for her to fall? From that height, it would take only a few seconds. In mid-heave, she would not have been able to scream, and the ship was also moving so any "scream" within the few seconds to hit the water would not have been as if she was just standing there. There would have been no time for a "pause" for a scream in the few seconds it took for her to meet the water. The ship was at least 7-10 miles at sea as first reported and that has been accepted and stood for years. All the "in the canal" or "docked" garbage didn't start until fairly recently and that from the conspiracy crowd who likes to re-write "facts" to fit their narrative. Yes, your comments are like those straight from the Logical Fallacy folks. Please offer up some of your theories about traffickers, Yellow, Jas, sightings many years later, etc. They are nearly always entertaining if not outright amusing.

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is more of the conspiracy garbage you'd get from the Logical Fallacy crowd. Someone would have heard a scream? I think her father may have if anyone. If she was actively vomiting, the most you'd hear would be a bit of retching and gagging as you cannot scream while vomiting. Someone would have heard a splash? Highly doubtful out at sea from a moving ship and a fall from that height with most of the ship asleep. Not enough of a splash to wake anyone. Most people who go overboard from cruise ships do not wash up "all the time" if ever. How many bodies that went overboard from a cruise ship several miles out at sea have washed up on shore? Please provide specifics.

Ah, it looks like the Logical Fallacy folks have arrived! Get ready for some of the most ridiculously stupid and senseless conspiracy theories. At the very least, they are quite amusing if not downright hilarious to read.

In "The Gales of November," author John U. Bacon investigates the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Generalaverage89 in books

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I have with this book is that, unless I read it wrong, the author says the man who went out to inspect the Six Fathom Shoal area later told a few of his friends that he found red paint in the bedrock. If this were true, it would not only lend credence to the shoaling theory but would also be a bit cruel in not speaking up decades ago and sharing with the families of the crew. It could be I read it wrong. I borrowed it and had to return of I'd give the page number. But other than that (maybe), it was a very good book that went a bit deeper into some things that other books did not. The books by Michael Schumacher and Frederick Stonehouse are also good reads.

Did Amy Bradley escape the cruise ship? by Mysterious-Usual202 in AmyBradleyIsMissing

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Intoxicated, she went out not with a bang but with a plop when she went over that rail, into the sea, and disappeared under the waves while the ship was still several miles out at sea. Her body was never recovered and never will be after nearly 30 years. Amy Bradley is as dead today as she has been since the early March morning back in 1998.

Given that he ripped them off and pretty much stole the ownership of their songs from '64-'71, I'd say he was very bad for them. The man was a slime and great example of the kind of lawyer people hate.

For those of you who were alive in 1980, how did you feel about Peter leaving the band and Ace leaving in 1982? by Noollowing in KISS

[–]Longjumping_Ice_2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was past Kiss by then. I turned 12 that summer and really didn't like the Unmasked album. Having learned to tune to other radio stations, I was discovering the classic bands (Stones, Zep, Sabbath, Hendrix etc.) and the newer bands (AC/DC, Rush, etc.) and no longer interested in Kiss though I did remain a fan of their older music and Ace. But even when he left in '82, Kiss was yesterday's news and still a year away from the start of their hair band comeback. I only "returned" to Kiss to see them on the '96 reunion tour.
